There are some interesting comments about this on John Q public's Facebook page. Gen Breedlove actually pitches in to song her praises. I don't trust a sitting general to give an impartial opinion, but it's better than the random old farts implying that she's unqualified because she's a woman and not a pilot.

For those who have done the master's degree from Air University: How serious are they about the quality of the research paper? The rest of the work has been sub-high school level expectations of critical analysis and writing ability, and I can't tell if it's going to be the same for the research paper as well.

If the Air Force can just get rid of all of the pesky airplanes and pilots it can actually get some real work done.

Isn't that exactly the point though? Because combat hours where you are shot at are logged the same as burning holes in the sky over Iraq, combat hours have become marginalized and meaningless (like air medals.)

Does combat time logged matter for anything? Who cares how many combat hours you have?

Curfew is also 10 PM for the first 30 days. What do they think people are going to do on day 31?

Anybody know whether how much a master's degree will help me get an interview at the airlines? Serious question. My opinion on the master's degree has changed recently. I do not wish to continue serving in the USAF past my initial commitment and believe that obtaining a masters to increase my chances of getting hired when I am finally able to separate. The ridiculous AU masters is what I do when I SOF.

I did my cfi testing at an fbo at the Montgomery airport. They had an FAA testing area. They probably have ATP also.

No, he's saying that anything you do (talking back to a chief, tripping and spraining your ankle) becomes a significantly worse event if you've had a beer, even if said beer had nothing to do with why the incident occurred. That's why if you hurt yourself off duty, the first thing they will ask you is "Was there alcohol involved?" so they can get the pain train rolling later.

You don't go direct to Osan. You go to Seattle, sit in SEA-TAC forever, then fly to Misawa, and sit there for hours and hours and hours, and then you fly to Osan. Commercial is way better.

I wonder if there might not be real legal repercussions to "taking back" retirement? At what point is that just involuntarily activating someone? The day you outprocess your final base?

I remember as a lieutenant being "invited" to watch this video where multiple O-5s talked about how they would tend to trust a religious officer more, and how they would try to provide more opportunities for advancement to religious officers. The whole thing creeped me out.
