It's a 7 million dollar career. Skimping out on $1000 for a potential checkride failure on every future airline app seems like a terrible idea.

I think you make a fair point. I just disagree that we should give a guy credit for great ideas that he ultimately failed to implement. I am not sure if I buy the idea that this organization is so intractable that even the guy in charge is fundamentally incapable of making changes.

Yeah, the point is that lower level commanders are not following his guidance. What does it say about a CSAF whose organization won't even follow simple commands?

My understanding is that twice passed over is not an automatic expulsion - I know of a twice passed over captain flying f-16s right now. I believe that the USAF had the option to offer you continuation or not. I am not smart enough on those pubs to provide a reference however.

As a pilot, you will get continued and will have to wait out your adsc with a smaller paycheck.

I don't even understand how stop loss would work in the aviation community. It takes so much motivation and effort to be a safe pilot - if I was a sq cc, I wouldn't want stop lossed pilots flying my airplanes.
