200th Airlift Squadron
LookieRookie replied to Velosprints's topic in Air National Guard / Air Force Reserves
Any more info with the squadron? -
Did you include a bottle with your letter to the board?

I have a few of MyFinishingTouch tags and will add a +1 that the quality/ backing material is better than mardon. As in it doesn't shrink and crinkle. And in case you're wondering not affiliated with him at all.

Air Force to begin testing enlisted pilots
LookieRookie replied to SPAWNmaster's topic in General Discussion
IMHO this is just the next step of senior leadership telling flyers to quit because they will be replaced. It makes sense bringing fresh from basic trainees because it will give data on what is necessary/how far we can cut to produce some sort of pilot. I think a lot of people here are looking at this the wrong way. The AF won't say it but the question is how much can UPT be shortened to make 1600 pilots per year number the new normal. That's what this experiment is for. In other words, this will enable the AF to care even less about retention and maintain the status quo, because faces in spaces, you're replaceable, red line/blue line, yadda yadda yadda. -
It will work if UPT opens at Alliance.

Air Force to begin testing enlisted pilots

All that tells me is JBSA's PA doesn't really know what's going on and just has some talking points. -
Are they PCSing qualified Texan drivers from PIT/ UPT?

https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-air-force/2017/12/06/enlisted-combat-pilots-the-air-force-is-launching-a-test-that-could-lead-to-that/ Enlisted 11Xs or 1Zwhatever even made the AF Crimes now.

I got them from AAFES clothing sales.

The Vance C-17 assignment was a trade

Are they actually going to fly in T-6s?

Anyone in the know on this? Edit: "A total of 15 officers and 5 enlisted airmen will be selected to participate in a 6 month pilot training program which will leverage technologies such as virtual reality, advanced biometrics, modernized learning techniques, artificial intelligence, and flight training in the T-6A trainer aircraft."

@Napoleon_Tanerite As of now, IFF will get the T-X first then UPT.

IMHO, the T-50 and T-100 are the only jets that can be procured quickly, although DRS said they will be building a new factory in Alabama. All the other jets will need a lot more time/testing change the "production example" prototype into an actual mission ready variant. Which is why I don't understand all the Scorpion craziness.

Is this program in tandem with purchasing new T-6s, ie T-6Cs or T-6Ds? I saw the white paper talking about purchasing more to get our 1600 pilot production, but I never heard if it was going to happen along with this providing MFDs/HUDs/embedded synthetic training/etc...

Welcome to life before the last 2 years

The PIT syllabus has different tracks for SUPT and CTP. The MIF/Standards are the "same" by syllabus definition but guys going to CTP are held to different standards aka weak swimmers are let through.

AETC staff yes. But who knows how far these ideas are along.

It's being discussed. And UPT expanded to Bergstrom or Alliance with a contractor esque deal ala Doss with AF QA
