  1. The SECAF also made comments at the AFA conference about how "We don't got this" with doing more with less. Crew rest waivers seems exactly like doing more with less.
  2. HAF is going to give crew rest waivers to WG/CC and possibly SQ/CC. http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-air-force/2017/09/19/goldfein-crew-rest-decisions-will-soon-be-made-by-wing-squadron-commanders/ On one hand, I see empowering the lower level commanders, on the other, now we can pump those rookie numbers up. "Goldfein said the Air Force doesn’t have a problem with airmen not getting enough crew rest, and he doesn’t expect the change to result in more waivers being granted." This quote makes no sense. Of course there are no issues because it has to be waived at the flag level.
  3. Because you're supposed to cheat on your first wife and then shack up with a millionaire heiress to make your money.
  4. It's the OG for a one-off landing at an uncontrolled field from what I remember.
  5. You are confusing primary and secondary time. Until you become an aircraft commander, you do not log any time as PIC. You won't be competitive for airlines for many years because you won't have any turbine PIC. Fighters are the platform that will give you TPIC immediately.
  6. I'll give my anecdote. I went to a AFGSC/A1 mock MLR and was one of the handful of rated dudes. The non-rated O-6/O-5s asked what MDS/MWS/a lot of flying acronyms meant. So to think the O-6s are going to be the ones scoring the records that they can't comprehend. As of now, it's on rated writers to draft a PRF for the lowest common denominator.
  7. You just grab a welcome packet at the front desk. You don't need to check in. You can stay off base. Alamo corporate is one.
  8. I've never flown GA and I fly enough mil side. If my flight pay went to $2K per month maybe then I would.
  9. Yes it's hard to follow. The gist I get is he's a reservist who just finished becoming a load, boom, or FE. He Q3'd at his squadron and then Q3'd again during requal. His leadership gave him three options: 1. Go to the IRR and it will be swept under the rug. He didn't want to do this because he would lose out on IDT/AT pay until a unit took a gamble on him and gained him from the IRR. This could never happen because he has multiple Q3s. He also would lose out on a good year points wise for retirement. 2. He could voluntarily give up his wings and permanently DQ himself iaw 11-402. 3. FEB He elected #3 and it appears that the FEB went poorly for him and now Gen Miller or Gen Scobee has to approve the FEB recommendation (no wings probably). He's saying that the FEB process was biased and that they don't have eyewitness testimony to his Q3s which doesn't make sense to me. It seems to be the old, leadership is out to get me argument.
  10. I do not think it was a they, I think it was a he as in Gen Robin Rand AFGSC/CC. That would align with past statements he has said to AFGSC aircrew.
  11. Good thing I skipped this SOS class to start flying again.
  12. Link no work for me http://www.airuniversity.af.mil/Portals/10/SOC/documents/Bios/SOC_Commander_Bio.pdf
  13. LEAP 25% would be covered by the 3R all ARC pilots can get. 3R= Recruitment/Relocation aka when hired or Retention Incentive.
  14. Yup, especially if you're an IP coming off AD you could become an ART, get GS-13 and an increased step with a superior quals package and then have a 25% 3R on top of it. By the way, does CBP get the same SSR that ARTs get? Edit: SSR 0558 for GS-2181s is for Element : Department of the AF. More coin being lost out on. https://apps.opm.gov/specialrates/2014/table055801012014.aspx
  15. Well... You have to sign a release for them to get your records because of HIPPA. If you narrow the scope of that release to just appendectomy, they can't get any concussion information. If you provide the appendectomy documents yourself, you will be able to ensure that you only get docs that talk about an appendectomy... Use that information how you will
  16. The reserves already do school with their RSSB. +1 for my baseopileaks source.
  17. Someone very much involved in that area of A1. Sorry can't name names. It's something closely held. I could be wrong and then I'll shack myself.
  18. Ya, the board had school selects bit that's all being stripped and everyone is competing separately again.
  19. No more schools selects on O-4 boards, everyone competes separately. Getting that approved is what's taking so long for release.
