  1. From what I'm reading, it's only the ABW that's getting the shaft. If you're part of the 305th you're good to go.
  2. There will still be droves of twenty two year olds signing on the dotted line for the chance to fly the biggest baggest aircraft in the world. Down the road there will just be 3 more years of anger as these year groups see when they would have formally gotten out.
  3. The Bulgarian student who got MI-17s is an Aviation Leadership Program student. The USAF asks and pays for countries to send students for pilot training. The ALP students go through an extended T-6 phase, but no advanced phase. It wasn't a waste for Bulgaria because it cost nothing to get a USAF trained product.   4. Just move some T-6's to Cannon/Creech, but then again, half the T-6 fleet is broken.

  7. Family emergencies, yes. I've never seen/heard anyone with that owned a full-time small business in UPT so that would be handled on a case by case basis and not guaranteed. Leave isn't really granted unless you finish phase II (T-6) or phase III (T-38/T-1) early. Granted if it's a possible legal entanglement with your business that could be cause to be put on admin hold. I would hire a general manager.
  8. Not to mention making 11Us permanently 18Xs takes away the option to jump ship to airlines at 10 years. Sure it opens up RPA jobs but all the 18Xs with 6 year commits will be snagging those.

  12. The Generalized UPT brief I saw still had helos tracking after the T-6. Everyone else went to the T-X.
  13. There's an AETC briefing floating around about the future of UPT and it spoke strongly of going back to Generalized UPT
  14. You may not track a 38 if you go AD. You definitely won't track a 38 if you go guard. (Unless you are the small percentage of heavy guard guys who have orders to 38s because the guard bureau ran out of T-1 slots.)
