  1. I don't see a problem with this. If you EAD while USAFA guys are still cadets, then the earlier DOR should stand.
  2. I commissioned 27 Apr, EAD'd 27 May 07 and USAFA graduated around 30 May. I got to keep my 27 Apr DOR, as well as two other guys because we EAD'd before the USAFA graduation. Everyone else in my ROTC class had midpoint DORs.

  4. At Initial Qual they required us to wear the issued sunglasses, or none at all. Problem was, Altus wouldn't pay for them because I was a student, CBM wouldn't pay for it because I PCSd out, and my gaining base wouldn't pick up the cost because I hadn't in-processed. Solution? Fly the jet without sunglasses.
  5. I don't see a problem with that. It is PILOT training.
  6. Asked a few 111 guys. They used the AP a lot, but were always ready to take the jet if necessary. However, one of them stated they probably wouldn't be able to react fast enough to save the jet if George went tits-up.
  7. Sad, but true. The same holds true for checkrides, too.
  8. PIQ should intro stalls in the tanker over a few sims (at least in 2009), and it is part of one of the quarterly system sims when you do high and low altitude stalls, and mach tuck recovery. You get another block of stalls in the sim when you are at CFIC, mostly focused on stall recovery in the pattern. The problem with doing stalls in the sim is it is all dependent on your sim operator. Some only talk about stall recovery, other instructors try to make it difficult. Talk to the sim guys and get their guides for the quarterly system sims. There is a lot in there and ask them to focus on things that you feel you aren't getting enough training on.
  9. Those guys do some pretty awesome work. I think the Edwards poster is by far their best. http://www.squadronposters.com/product/edwards-afbbell-x-1-vintage-aviation-artwork/
  10. Not a point nose type, but I would never want to go to a 2-piece. They are great for pre-flights, but uncomfortable for long sorties.
  11. Whoa, easy. Some of us missed out on the extra opportunity known as ASBC.
  12. Can I get an ADSC waiver because I am not allowed to grow a mustache?
  13. When did Michael Bay start directing movies in South Korea?
  14. So that's the reason the CGOC president has a table at the Wg staff meetings.
  15. Are they requiring you to send them orders to verify you are AD?
  16. Dude, totally disagree. As a broke-ass college student I avoided MOAs, and there are a lot where I flew. Did it cost me an extra $69 bucks? Yes, it did. But I also thought flying through a MOA with Vipers, A-10s, and KC-135s was a bad idea. Plus, flying outside the border of the MOA provided for some pretty good airshows without having those guys calling KIO.
  17. When I filed my IFS voucher in 2007 finance paid me $4.5K which wasn't what was even on my voucher. I went to CBM finance and told them it was way too much and they told me the amount was legit. Half-way through UPT I get a paycheck for $0.00 until my debt was repaid. Luckily, I kept the money in savings. I spoke to the finance experts and they stated they tried to contact me. Never got an e-mail, never got any official correspondence. I don't want to even start on how the process was to PCS out of there in 2009.
