  1. Some of those folks definitely put the Special in AFSOC. We had a terrible SARM troop one deployment. After several counseling sessions, I directed the individual to reread the RTM and sections of the 401. I’ve never seen somebody stare so blankly in my life.

  2. The previous NCAA testosterone requirement for a male to compete as a female was to bring the testosterone levels down to or below 10 nmol/L. Problem is the normal range for women is .5-2.4 (https://www.healthline.com/health/low-testosterone/testosterone-levels-by-age#normal-testosterone-levels), so the biological male that was born with a biological propensity for larger muscle mass, larger bones, faster muscle movements could compete as a female, despite those previously mentioned advantages AND with still having 4-20 times the testosterone levels as the women he is competing against. How is that fair? Sports have rules for a reason and it is to make it a fair competition. To your second point, there are very few, if any, sports where women are better than men, so no one cares about a biological woman competing in as a man or even as a woman. Look at the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, etc. Do any of them have rules against a woman playing? Not that I know of. But there are none because when you get to that level of competition, you're talking the top .01% of athletes. There are no women in the top .01% for those sports. That's why Serena and Venus Williams, possibly two of the best female tennis players ever, both lost to a man that was ranked 102. Third, it is not hate. The left is quick to throw out 'hate' because 'hate' is bad and they only have emotional arguments. But, like calling someone racist, if you say it all the time it becomes meaningless. I don't hate these individuals, I feel sorry for them. 40% of transgender people have actively attempted suicide. They have a mental illness and our society has decided that it is better to play into their delusion than help them. If I was walking across a bridge and saw someone about to jump off, would it be hateful of me to tell them they shouldn't? Should I indulge their desire to kill themself and tell them I think they're brave or should I pull them back from the edge and get them help? Which of these actions is loving and which is hateful? These people are actively hurting themselves (and even worse, hurting children) and somehow it is 'hateful' of me to not give them my full support.

  3. Plenty of thankless jobs out there, but that’s not an excuse to not know what the 401 is as a SARM. I think it is akin to a pilot not knowing what the 202 is, but maybe I have just set my expectations too high.

  6. Eunuch Pride month to replace December and all of those silly holiday traditions. Edit: Does the AF still require a trans sortie every 45 or 60 days? Lol, that has a whole new meaning now.

  7. The right squadron who really feels like they connected with you enough to want to hire you would look past those AFOQT scores. Now, it definitely wouldn’t hurt for you to try and get a waiver for a 3rd attempt. It can quickly turn into a numbers game in which the squadron needs to find the easiest way to “weed out” the record number of applications it just received this year. Instead of looking at 150 cover letters and etc., it’s just a little easier to look at 30. Now, how you choose which 10 or so out to an interview is beyond me haha. I DIGRESS: If you haven’t already, I’d challenge you to start broadening your horizons and figure out which squadrons are worth spending your time and money on when rushing/visiting. If the squadron posted a hiring announcement on Bogidope, I can almost guarantee you that you will be fighting an uphill battle against some amazing applications unless you have a personal connection with that squadron. Try doing some research off of the main path…. You will find that some squadrons don’t get a lot of traction because they may not be in “desirable” locations. Some squadrons don’t even post their hiring announcements anywhere on the internet. These are places you may want to try focusing your attention. Email, call, and do whatever you need to in order to find that one genuine connection. There’s that saying about the “squeaky wheels getting the grease.” Cut your losses and keep at it. Getting offered the dream job is definitely a magic combination of hard work, being at the right place at the right time, and a little bit of luck. Hope this helps!

  8. What?! How about the 5 ARMS troops sitting in the squadron scrolling their phones all day and not processing stuff?

  9. Welcome to AFSOC...based on past experience, AFSOC will do almost ANYTHING to protect one of their GO's. Lie on an AFORMs sheet to get flight pay...no problem, fly a CV-22 into the trees...nothing to see here, create a toxic climate...meh get over it.

  10. How does a Wing fail a UEI and the firing is a subordinate and not the Wing CC? BG Select or not, that’s just weird.

  11. Strange though, that seems like something to fire a SQ/CC & DO about unless it was sanctioned by the SOG.

  14. Not sure about Vance rules, I was a Sheppard guy in UPT. The dorms however makes your life alot easier because you will be crazy busy, and being that close to work helps mitigate things like being late due to traffic and such. Plus you will be around lots of other students, which helps with studying. Your call of course, but I think it helped keep me focused. I was single in those days of course. Wheelz

  15. I just heard from a friend going to XL that you area allowed to get an on-base house if you're single. But apparently you need roommates and they have to be either one class ahead of you, in your class, or one class behind you as well as the same gender. The base websites generally have all the info available for incoming studs as far as housing and inprocessing. I'm not going to XL, though, so I haven't checked up on this myself.
