I know I'm late in the game on this thread and I found it while doing some research on The Doc after watching some YouTube videos on GO shennanigans. I was stationed at Ramstein from 2001 to 2007 so I lived through the dark times of The Doc's tenure as USAFE/CC. There is so much great information in this thread that I could use the material to write a book on the matter. What I remember most about those days was Airmen working on Combat Proud patrol where they would have to respond to hotline calls. The calls mostly came from Doc himself to inform the poor kids that a wayward Taco Bell cup was last seen on the road to CTS outside the West Gate of RAB and required immediate investigation and disposal. I retired in 2015 after 20 years of service and never in those 20 years have I known of anybody, officer or enlisted, that was more universally loathed than The Doc. I know leadership isn't a popularity contest, however, I think if NOBODY likes you, it should be a good indicator that you are not one of the good ones.

Multiple videos on YouTube of P320s firing without anything touching the trigger. There is definitely a problem. Search "It NDs today." When I first heard of cops suing Sig, I figured it was a blame game to keep from being disciplined over their own stupidity. Now, it looks like at least some of them are legit mechanical malfunctions that resulted in uncommanded discharges. Recommend you unload any P320s and keep them in the safe until more data comes out. That's what I'm doing.

Quality control is a plausible explanation why others arent able to duplicate in significant numbers. Maybe a part in the safety mechanism is prone to excessive wear leading to failure. Either way, if this is a failure of Sig they need to be held accountable.

Yeah I think the word is out that these have durability/safety issues now. When I shot at small arms about a year ago people were stoked about the new equipment, and honestly I thought it was pretty smooth. But that could also be because my benchmark was the broke-dick M9's they've been abusing for decades. Shame that we can't even get new stuff that works, all the way down to a f-ing sidearm. The craziest part of this whole thing is the Air Force's insane "duty load" policy that they teach everyone - round in the chamber, safety on FIRE, and holstered. They even tell aircrew to do that which is borderline suicidal to do inside of a pressurized cabin. Sig mechanical issues notwithstanding, the other services think we are absolute clowns when it comes to gun safety and I have to say that I agree.

I think both parties are generally full of idiots actually. There's far to many people like you and Bashi in office on both sides. I hope for the best like most Americans who want the country to do well, not only when their team is in charge.
