Realize you'll make about $150k with middle of the road effort in year 3 at any of the major airlines. So a 60k bonus would be about even with that for a capt/maj with a lot more bullshit. If you have 1500 hours and an ATP you are a hot commodity these days. Dont sell yourself self short or undervalue you experience.

Cool so CBM 17-14 track. 2 active 38s 1 guard 38 2 international 38s 15 T-1 1 reserve Helo 1 active helo (wanted it) As far as active 38s, there was only going to be 1, but they cut a deal yesterday to wash back a complete international and get a second slot for AD. Pretty much.....yeah... there were some good sticks who didn't get their first choice. And I got T-1s, although I think if it was a couple classes back I'd be in 38s, and I'm happy to take it because honestly I am just glad to be here and fly. Just remember for the up and coming hot-as-shit SNAPs, a lot of guys have come before you, and you are entitled to nothing. Don't be a b*tch and take your track with some dignity.

This. As a Guard Guy, who isn't at the whim of AFPC, your success will be a direct correlation to the effort and natural ability you have. Don't get me wrong, I love ENJJPT, it is just that the pendulum swings here tend to either send a ton of guys to fighters that shouldn't, or relegate some great students to airframes that they don't deserve (RPAs included). I fully expect to see some names on CNN one day of a student planting it and I hate that. The int'l thing is a blast and it can also be the worst thing in pilot training depending on the int'l IP. I found out stereotypes exist for a reason... I personally believe that the fighter drops at Sheppard should be on a person by person basis and not based on some red cell in a spreadsheet at AFPC that says class 18-06 (need xx fighters). I've seen classes where 1-2 guys have the ability and a class where ALL of the studs were like flying CT (most of the time). The problem is being all T-38s, the sh*tty class got 95% fighters and the awesome class got a ton of heavies. Bring on the NSS at Sheppard and be able to bank and pull fighters forward and it would be a much better program. As of now, the lack of competition isn't helping the current crop of studs... It will be interesting to see how this plays out, as Brick pointed out there are potentially 30,000 suspects (group members), and the fallout could fundamentally change the leadership structure of the USMC for many years to come. At first glance this sounds like a systemic issue that has been going on for some time. If they are truly draconian (as the Marines tend to be), this could destroy the career of anyone who ever came into contact with this FB group.

Although we only just put through our first two Bone-to-Buff Striker Vista guys, I get the sense they were "could've easily gone to WIC but still on a command track" types, so that's likely out. Both our guys pinned on major while at the FTU, too, to give you a sense of where they were in the timeline. I'd expect to stick around. After hemorrhaging IPs/ACs the last couple of years to back fill 11F white jet bills, nobody is going anywhere this spring/summer. We're seriously hurting on manning all across the board. If you want to stick around and fly, it should be pretty easy.

This. Depending on where this strat is being placed (PRF or OPR), it could also be beneficial for the rater (or SR in the case of a PRF) to be even more blunt versus making the board "figure it out". I've seen it worded this way before: "1/X FGOs, ahead of X Lt Cols...."

I heard a SrA at AFPC had the pilot shortage problem solved but the MFR keeps getting kicked back because it isn't formatted correctly according to the tongue & quill...

The 144FW (194th FS), California Air National Guard in Fresno, will be holding a pilot board on Sunday, May 7th 2017. Applications for UPT candidates are due by Sunday, April 2nd, 2017 and notifications to be invited for an interview will be made on or around April 15th, 2017. Star Wars Rogue One was very good. I give it a 9.5/10, better than The Force Awakens. It wasn't a recycled plot like TFA, and it didn't lean too hard on nostalgic cameos (most were mere seconds long and well placed). The conclusion of the movie segways amazingly well into A New Hope, and actually enhances the story significantly. Has some of the best battle scenes in the franchise. Minor points deducted for some tropey moments, and a somewhat slow, fractured start, but the second half of the movie more than makes up for it. Has the old rustic star wars feel throughout, yet includes some of the best CGI to date. It's a true prequel to episode IV, and how a prequel should be done. I don't have any above average fandom but anyone who likes Star Wars will receive this one well.

You're reading too much into it. Active duty, AFRC and the Guard are all part of the Air Force. What it really comes down to is who's signing your paycheck at any given moment.
