  4. Easy there Maverick....I really like quality watches and I love jets. Put them together and its a no-brainer for me! I'm not trying to impress chicks with the "White Rocket" (waiting for small white rocket jokes in 3...2...1...) INFO NOTE: there are self respecting Naval Aviators wearing custom Bremont C-2 watches...its a trash hauler.... Back on track.... Bremont has confirmed that from this point on, they will except single watch orders....no mini group order of 6-9 required. PM me if interested and I'll get you the info. Cap-10

  5. Gone from leadership to fortune 500 management, Airman screws up once and it shows up on a Wing PPT slide she gets the big blue weenie even though she is one of your top performers. Glad I'm retired, in the 80's the CC took care of you if made him money on the flightline, the working troops were the ones you wanted to be and they were the ones to get promoted to Senior and Chief, today those guys don't make it past Tech. CC's Might as well take their uniform off and wear a polo and slacks and tell you lies just like their civilian counter parts in the airlines.

  6. Just think of all the nasty ball sweat and flightline kitchen farts that have been right where that gorgeous watch is sitting on that ejection seat. If the T-45 were out in the fleet as a companion aircraft, test aircraft, and adversary (e.g. as the Talon is with the B-2, U-2, F-22, and formerly F-117) they would probably see things differently.

  7. Since this thread is already derailed... Folks should sport the T-38 watch. Why? You keep company with one TPS "Commandant" whose distinctive accomplishments include only flying the T-38 post-UPT and being one of two non-graduate Commandants, the other being Buzz Aldrin. Seriously, Cap-10, it's a cool watch...hopefully, you alternate it with the F-15E Breitling.

  8. I sure hope not. A warfighting organization needs a warfighter as a leader, not an administrator. That's what the SECAF position is for.

  9. Don't worry about the odds. If you want a T-38, put that as your #1 choice and see what happens. While I agree with our bros here that realistic expectations are important, don't psyche yourself out at the fear of possibly not passing in a follow on trainer. If you aren't willing to challenge yourself, you'll never really improve and will end up as that copilot/wingman for life. Secondly, if it's been your dream to fly a fighter/tanker/helo/whatever, don't look back later on in life and wish you would've at least tried instead of taking the path of least resistance. My $.02

  10. No sir, thank you for preventing that. Obviously everyone who has graduated under your tutelage is certified "tool free."

  11. Saw it. Holy hell that was awesome. They took the mantra "Death Before Dismount" and really ran with it. A lot darker and more serious than I was expecting too.

  12. Thanks. I just remember at BMT (15 years ago) we all had to wear the same type underwear, and the current AMS male uniform checklist lists white cotton underwear. Not a fan.

  14. A lot of retired O-5's and 6's killed in last few years working for these civilian/contractors. 1. Tactical aircraft have no business in a for profit operation, or any operation not 100% funded for full capability and safety. 2. If you survived long enough to retirement, do your family a solid and let it go man. Maybe we can stem the flow of retired brass turning into memorial services?

  15. Sorry but your would never see any self respecting Naval Aviator wearing a T-45 watch. It's a trainer...
