  1. At the least the PM said it was terrorism and not "work place violence" or "road rage".
  2. Depends, is he above me on the seniority list?

Dude, no offense, but I think you need to do some serious research on home defense and firearms. If somebody has broken into your home while you are there, under most State laws (disclaimer--I am not an attorney, so research your own State laws), you can reasonably (and legally) assume they are there to do you harm...so why would you ever want to 'intimidate' someone who is already trying to cause you and your family harm? Would you ever conceal carry a weapon without a round in the chamber, suggesting that there is an 'intimidation' factor of racking the slide to charge the weapon...and at the time when you will need it most? If you are serious about home defense, you would not want to limit yourself by not being as prepared as possible, ie waiting to charge your weapon until the person could see/hear you. Some semi-auto shotguns have been known to not reliably cycle (I have a Saiga 12, trust me, I know), and the ones that are known to work really well (the Benilli, for example) cost quite a bit. A solidly maintained pump shotgun rarely fails and can be cycled quite quickly with training and practice. My advice: Do some solid research on home defense with and without a shotgun, talk to folks who practice home defense, and then if you chose to and are ready, buy pump shotgun with a solid reputation--hard to go wrong with a Remington 870 IMO. Later on as you learn and train/practice more, you may feel more comfortable spending the extra money ($350 vs $2K) in upgrading to an auto. Of course, it's your call.

Man, you guys are a bunch of ate up mother fuckers! T-6 assignments for all of you! About the only time I get pissed at comm, is if we're in a stack, about to employ, and extraneous comm is hindering our ability to drop. Other than that, you can say whatever the fuck you want.
  5. This is an excellent case for more concealed carry. I imagine this would've gone down differently in, say, Dallas.
  6. I have yet to see a fighter or tanker fly into a FOB like Shank, Sharana, Tarin Kowt or other similar location. Congrats for outing yourself as an idiot.

My T-6 flight IPs came up with an interesting way to break us of the "at this time" habit. If we ever said that phrase during a stand-up, they would stop you and say "not at this time, try again in 2 minutes." So you'd be standing there in an awkward silence, sweating bullets and waiting to talk again. Erased it from our vocab in a week.
  8. Fuck 3-D. Seriously? Why won't it die again like it did in the early 90s?

No kidding. The correct answer is to always have your wife run out onto the back patio with your double barreled shotgun and fire two shots randomly in the air. It's a proven technique for scaring off all types of intruders in all situations.

I just heard that a large tornado went through Moore and Oklahoma City headed for Tinker. I was in the '99 monster in the same area. I hope everyone is okay there.

Just got home from seeing Hangover III, definitely on par with the first two. Worth the price of admission. Tip: Don't immediately leave when the credits start rolling. Cheers! M2
  13. Ummm....what? Something about a PAR and a F-14 driver getting mad props.
  14. Founded by a violent warrior,.. who married a 7 year old, and consummated the marriage when she was 9. But I digress. Here's a good resource: https://www.amazon.com/Not-Peace-But-Sword-Christianity/dp/1938983289 If Christianity's founder had done this, we would be celebrating his death, not his resurrection.

We could start a whole new thread on pilot-JTAC nonsense comms.
  16. It's a tongue in cheek dig at those who clamor for a gun ban here in the U.S., would be my guess.
  17. I tried looking earlier in this thread for the answer but couldn't find it. I apologize if this has already been answered. Can you start the AU OLMP on the leadership concentration, take the core courses, and then when you become a major select "switch" to the joint warfare concentration?
  18. I'm guessing sarcasm? If not then you've never been in a one of these aircraft for a zero illumination AMP-4 landing on a 60 ft wide (or less) dirt strip. Not to mention the avg. number of landings per flight hour logged in airlift type aircraft compared to fighters or tankers...kinda like saying fighters have more air-to-air collisions so they must be disconnected from AF Aviation. I'm done.
  19. 5 minute discussion is good. Let the SIB do their job.
