Hey Friends. Can't believe they're pushing us old timers through the system this year and figured if ever it was my year, this is it. Some feedback on my package is appreciated - I really have no idea what this board is going to look like! I assume I'll work the ancillaries (strats, etc) into the 215 bullets since no ROP makes it to the board. Anyone else hitting UFT this year and want to share some tips? I appreciate you all! 32 years old in November, looking at 11, RPA, then ABM and CSO (in that order.) No health/medical waivers. Excellent (95+) PT history. AD Capt, Non-Rated 80/92/97/97/92 (2012 --- was gunning for ABM at the time) MBA GPA 3.3 …

Hey everyone, First timer here, thanks in advance for reading my post. I'll be applying to the Civilian AD OTS Boards here shortly, 19OT02 applications are due in January. I'll be 27 by the time the board sees my package and I'm applying for Pilot/CSO/RPA/ABM. Considering applying Pilot/CSO only however and if non-select this go around I'll put down everything rated + Intel for 19OT03. Current AFOQT Scores: P 93, N 88, AA 38, V 62, Q 21, ABM/CSO 83/88 PCSM: 70 w/ 3 flying hours. Aiming for at least 6 or 11 hours. Max is 98. I'll be graduating this December with a degree in Homeland Security, GPA 3.16 I consistently volunteer and make eff…

To whom it may concern: I am requesting the feedback of my package from the peanut gallery. I am dead set on fighters at this point, no one has been able to change my mind. Here are my scores: Age: 23 College: Phoenix University Major: History GPA: 2.16 P74 N98 AA21 V17 Q25 PCSM: 28 Flight Certificates: PPL w/ 102 hours I am currently working at Home Depot as a loadmaster. Making hella good money, but I'm dead set on chasing the dream for fighters now. I've already taken the AFOQT 3 times, and the TBAS 2 times, these were my best scores. I've heard worst have gotten fighter slots. I've been told my navigato…

I just applied to my first squadron, and I'd like to know how you guys think I stack up. Here are the numbers: GPA: 3.75 AFOQT: 92/77/50/60/43 PCSM: 67 Flight Hours: 27 Age: 28 LORs: 3; from current and former AF officers Obviously I need to get more flight hours and get that PCSM up. Flying and graduating college are my top priorities right now. I expect to have my PPL by the end of the year, and about 80 hours around that same time. I will continue to build hours until I get picked up by a unit. I know I'm cutting it close with my age; I'm going to keep pushing until I get hired. Thanks everyone.

Hello there everybody, figured I'd do the same as most people on here and throw out my numbers to get some feedback since the AD board is in January. Little bit about myself, currently 26 and been in the guard since I turned 18, coming up on 8 years next month. Now you all are probably going to laugh, but hell I am too, I'm probably the only case you've seen of an enlisted Security Forces troop trying to jump in a plane, but I think I may just have the numbers to do it. GPA: 3.13 AFOQT: 92 Pilot, 86 Nav, 85 Acad, 98 Verb, 60 Quant PCSM: 62 because I have a whopping goose egg when it comes to real life seat time, however my "prospective" score as I keep seei…

I turn 29 in July. Unfortunately I was a bit late in the game deciding I wanted to fly for the Air Force, and by the time I did, it took me ages to actually correspond with an officer recruiter (like almost a year). I finally managed to get in touch with one late last year who told me there was no chance for me because of my age and pulled the plug on submitting me to the April board because apparently I'm officially in waiver territory. I've been told by a lot of people in the Air Force that it can be done, but the recruiter told me they're all wrong. However, turns out I've got until my birthday to make something work out with the Air National Guard. So far I've ap…

Hello, Hello, Here are my "numbers". The reason I put it in quotes, is because these are recent guesstimates extrapolating my future circumstance. I'll know for sure when I take the real test in 2021. Prior Service Experience: Fuels, AF Active duty: E-3. Career goals: Retire as an air-force fighter pilot. Notable Achievements: CAM/ST for the undefeated Mens Airforce Soccer team. Hi Everyone, I'm looking for advice on which are my best options for getting my commissioning and going to UPT. I'm currently working as a Test Engineer at Northrop Grumman, have been working in the Aerospace/Defense industry for 6 years and have obtained my single engine airplane private, instrument, and commercial ratings on my own. I understand I will need an age waiver. The AD recruiter I'm in contact with has told me the current AD board is not considering anyone requiring an age waiver. I'm putting out applications to every ANG unit that I can as well as getting the ball rolling with an AFRC recruiter for the unsponsored route. I have no wife and kids and wo…

I've posted before, civilian with a decent shot that is applying to the 910 AW (local). I've got some good networking / seem to be liked there, but they could have an enlisted guy who's been waiting to go or someone otherwise more qualified than me so I'm not getting my hopes up. As for my preferences, the general A10 mission is my favorite but I doubt I'm competitive enough to apply to a base like the 122 FW. The 910 AW is top pick for me considering their unique mission and the fact that its local. I don't care about fighters much, but maybe because I'm not taking into account close air support missions. After that, I guess beggars shouldn't be choosers. Right now…

I am trying to figure out where I would fair for OTS and UPT selection and what I should focus on. I have recently contacted a recruiter but haven't heard anything back yet. I just started a PhD program but am reconsidering my life in research science. I've started studying for the AFOQT, but feel fairly confident at my ability to score high. I have a good math and science background. I'm also a paramedic and been involved in EMS for nearly 10 years. Howdy, I am currently attending a state university and have been planning on flying fighters for as long as I can remember. I am a young 20 years old and pushed through college in 3 years (May '19). Here's my current stats: AFOQT: 94 Pilot 75 Nav PCSM: 98 Major: Aviation Science w/ Flight Training Concentration GPA: 3.51 205 Hours with commercial multi w/ instrument I have met with several officers in the ANG including the wing commander. They told me now is the time to apply! The unit I am applying to currently flies F-15s, and are supposedly getting either a newer version of the F-15 or F-35s within a few years. Either way, th…

I am currently putting an application together for Portland, New Orleans, and Vermont (and any other ANG fighter units that come up over the next several months). I just got my scores back from AFOQT and TBAS: AFOQT: Pilot: 94 Nav: 97 Acad Aptitude: 99 Verbal: 99 Quantitative: 99 PCSM: 63, based on 10 flight hours I will have over 20 when I actually apply bringing my score to 71, with a max of 91 with 201+. I also wanted to get advice on letters of recommendation, as I don't have many contacts within the military. Would it be better to get a letter from someone I don't know as well who is in the military or someon…

Quick background story is I have 14 years time in service (7 active duty and 7 Air National Guard) Currently I am a full-time guard technician. I am a 33 year old SMSgt (I know quick). I recently took my AFOQT and was shocked by the scores: P95, N99, AA93, V94, Q83. Also got ABM98 and CSO99. I have my degree in Business Administration with a GPA of 3.62. I have 0 flight hours and took the TBAS, my PCSM score is only 34...pretty bad and considering a retest. I know I am too old for a rated pilot position, but I am interested in the RPA route. If anyone has any info or experience in a similar situation let me know. Bonus points, most positions I am seeing that are adverti…

Hello all, Long time lurker; first time poster-- Open to any feedback, recommendations, critiques, etc... Becoming a fighter pilot, and officer, for the United States Armed Forces has been a lifelong goal for me. However, lack of citizenship and money made it difficult for me to afford any type of flight training throughout high school, and left me short on the prospects of doing college and any sort of ROTC back in 2010. As a result, I opted to earn my citizenship by enlisting as Active Duty Navy, and trying to earn a commission through one of the handful of Enlisted-to-O programs. I went in as an Aviation Machinist Mate, and managed to get stationed wit…

Hello everyone, I'm trying to get a feel for how competitive of a candidate I will be. I have my AFOQT done but still need to schedule my TBAS before I have PCSM scores. My college GPA is probably my biggest hurdle to overcome, it's not great at all, however I've gotten my act together and learned from my failures. GPA is around 2.37 after a few disastrous early semesters, I am not proud of it, but I clawed my way back to graduation. AFOQT scores: P: 98 N: 96 AA: 77 V: 93 Q: 52 I also have my instrument rating, with high performance and complex endorsements and ~360 flight hours at the time of this post. I should have my commercial in a couple week…

Hey everyone! So I applied to the last UFT board and didn't make it. I applied with pretty terrible scores because when I originally took the tests I wasn't planning on going rated. My original PCSM score was an 11 my pilot was a 48. I just retook the TBAS and thought I did pretty well. My PCSM went up to an 18. I plan on taking the AFOQT in a few months after some studying. My question is, will I see a significant jump in my PCSM if I make it in the 80-90s for my Pilot. From what I read online without flight hours the highest a person can get is a PCSM:70. I'm curious on how the breakdown and weight of each portion is. Any advice helps. Also is have 0 flight hours…

Hey all, Looks like I missed the cut on getting an interview with Oregon. So, I figured it's time to post one of these to try and get a better idea of my weaknesses and areas I can improve on. Of all the upcoming (fighter) boards this year, I figured this was one of my better shots of at least getting an interview, so looks like I have a lot of work to do. Any feedback is much appreciated! Scores AFOQT: 98 / 76 / 82 / 65 / 90 PCSM: 98 (will max once I reach 61 hours) Flight Experience PPL (49.5 hours total / earned at 40) FAA 1st Class Medical; No Limitations Aerobatic Experience: MiG-15, L-39, Yak-52, Citabria Work …

So as it stands right now after my first attempt I scored the following on the AFOQT: P:89 N:38 AA:37 V:31 Q:47 I will be taking my TBAS (mid April) when I return home from my current deployment. A little background about myself, I am 2 classes away from finishing my aviation degree and am 23 years old. I have a 3.89 GPA as well as 255 flight hours and my ASEL Commercial Certificate along with an Instrument rating. I have not received a grade throughout college lower than a B. Outside of academics I play hockey at the school, am part of a fraternity, enjoy pretty much anything with friends but along with hockey I am big into fishing and golfi…

So I am trying to become a fighter pilot in maybe the Gaurd or the reserves. I think Airforce would be the best place to go to get adjusted and then maybe transfer to the Navy later on but please correct me if I am wrong. So I am going to put some bullet points here of what I have done so far in life. First thing I will put down is background history. I was a farmer for four years when I started working for income, I then started working at a dealership for two and a half years doing a range of things from cutting up metal poles and other such things to gardening and landscaping and filling in holes with quick asphalt and leveling stones, as well as a valeigh. I w…
