  1. What's up everybody! Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm a former AD KC-135 Boom Operator that has been working to get a spot for UPT anywhere and on any airplane! I obviously feel like I'd be a good fit at a tanker squadron since I know the drill but I am open to serving once again anyway and anywhere I can. Here are some of my scores: Age: 32! I don't feel THAT old... KC-135 Boom Operator, MacDill AFB Pilot: 90 PCSM: 89 Bachelor's of Business Admin 3.1 MBA 4.0 Commercial Pilot License; ASEL; Instrument Airplane 295 Total Time LOR's Major - KC-135 Pilot, Reserves Captain - KC-135 Pilot, Current AD T6 IP Lt. - KC…

It feels like it's been way too long but I finally have my scores together to post one of these, so here it is: Age: 25 Flight experience: 131 hrs, PPL, time in your standard training aircraft (172, Warrior, Cherokee), some time on floats, and some time in R44s. HP and Complex endorsements. I'll be starting in to my IFR in the next couple of weeks here. Civilian work experience: Systems analysis for a couple of aerospace companies, one in hardware the other in avionics AFOQT: P 99 / N 99 / AA 99 / V 97 / Q 96 PCSM: 99 Degree: BS Mechanical Engineering And this is where we get into the bad. My GPA is pretty abysmal. It's about the lowest …

  3. Hello everyone, So, in the last 9 months, I've applied to pretty much every fighter opening with no bites. It's been a little discouraging, so I'm looking for some updated opinions/feedback. I'm a current regional airline pilot trying to get a pilot slot with a guard fighter unit. Age: 23 Finishing BS in Aeronautics from ERAU (finished by the end of November) GPA: 2.94 from one year of community college, 3.81 from ERAU AFOQT: Pilot-99, Nav-99, AcadApt-70, Verbal-79, Quant-56 PCSM: 94 ATP with 2625 hours, 1072 airline hours, current CFI/CFII, tailwheel LOR's from retired USAF Lt. 4. Started by haitham,

hey everyone, this question is aimed towards those are/were involved UPT boards, but I'd appreciate the general input too. I have been, for some years preparing to apply for a UPT slot, I am 23, and I graduate in December, with a business degree from Embry-Riddle. I have a ton of work experience, for my age anyway. I can't take AFOQT until November unfortunately, so I won't have that number until then, but I am doing pretty good in the practice test. I will most likely apply to the ANG, and possibly the AF Reserve. I am Muslim. I am not naive. I know the mood is generally against Muslims and anything to do with them, thanks to the bastards in the ME and traito…

  5. Hi there, I was wondering what the chances are for a Marine Corps Aviator to get a jet / tailhook slot during Primary Flight Training in Naval Flight School. Does anyone know how exactly Marine Corps / Navy select their slots. I know the Air Force has one drop night where everyone gets T-38 or T-1, but I'm unsure how Naval Flight School works. I found so much info about AFROTC and how exactly flight school works in the AF, but there isin't that much information about Naval Flight School, especially about how selection works. I know that with every UPT class there are at least a few T-38 drops available. So if you want one, you can really work hard to get it. But I…

Hello all, I am interested in becoming a pilot for the USAF and looking to apply in the near future. I am 19 years old. I will graduate college next spring with my 4 year degree in Aviation Flight Science from Western Michigan, current GPA is about 3.5(think I can get it up to 3.7 by the end). I have my Private Pilot's License, Instrument rating, commercial license, and will soon have my multi and CFI. I have 150 hours of flight time. I have not taken TBAS or AFOQT, so I do not have a PCSM score for you guys. I have absolutely no criminal record or anything like that. I'm a healthy individual that is in decent shape. I currently hold a First class medical, I have had ver…

Age: 24 GPA: 2.85 Information Technology AFOQT: 98P / 99N / 84AA / 80V / 79Q PCSM: 75 with 0 flight hours. I am currently getting a few hours and will update my PCSM soon with 11 hours which will push it to 87. 4 LOR’s: 1 from my university programming professor, 2 from my current and former manager, and one from a retired O-5 AF Pilot. I am a civilian with no prior military experience. With my GPA, basically I was a knucklehead when I started college and did poorly; I lacked focus. Ended up temporarily quitting school in 2013 with a 1.5 GPA. I got married in 2015 and went back to school and busted my butt. I’ll graduate in May next year an…

  8. I've read through a ton of older threads on here. Maybe I've read to much that I've jumped the gun and confused myself. So older threads on here I found my 2008 or so, say the way to start the hiring process is by rushing a unit. I'm suppose to call a unit, ask for the pilot's ops desk and schedule a visit. I also fill out a packet and send it to the unit. If they like me they call me to the hiring board. When I call units one of two things happen. Either A they don't know what I am talking about or B. They redirect to a voicemail box that is either full or I leave a message and never hear back. The units that say they don't know what I am talking about nev…

Howdy all, I'm currently applying to guard squadrons (fighter only) and just thought I'd shoot my stuff out here to get peoples' opinions! I think I'm half decent, but sometimes you need a second opinion. Age: 24 Occupation: AD Lt AFOQT: P: 98 N: 89 A: 99 AA: 98 V: 84 Q: 99 PCSM: 86 (16 flight hours) College GPA: 3.3 - technical major LoR's: 1. Past ROTC Commander O-5 pilot who knows me well 2. I grew up always getting in trouble, but when I was 16 I realized what I wanted to do. My dream is to become a military pilot flying for the guard. Being arrested over 10 times for minor things such as truancy, trespasing, etc. prevent someone from getting in? I currently have all my licenses and just graduated from college with a solid 3.9 GPA in ME, I'm also 25, any chances?

  11. I got a pilot score 71 on the AFOQT mainly due to my low scores on the math portion of the test. All the actual flying and orientation stuff I knew and it came easily. After taking the TBAS, my PCSM score is only a 65 with 82 hours of flying time. If I get it up to 101 hours my score will come up to a 69. I'm trying to get a reserve slot flying C-17s,130s ect but will take anything provided its not a drone! My instructor is a ex. KC-135 pilot and says I'm an excellent pilot. In college I did ok, I have a degree in Business Management with a 3.1 GPA overall and a 3.9 in my major(math scores killed my overall) So what are my chances of getting a slot? Thanks, David

Confused on how I should feel on my chances at this time: Pilot: 99 Navigator: 83 Academic: 33 Verbal: 33 Quantitative: 39 PCSM: Waiting to come in. GPA. 3.67 I don't know what to think of my AFOQT scores at this time. I see them being very low and will be retesting at the 6 month mark to hopefully make them better. Any insight is welcomed. Thank you.

  13. Hello, Hello, Here are my "numbers". The reason I put it in quotes, is because these are recent guesstimates extrapolating my future circumstance. I'll know for sure when I take the real test in 2021. College GPA: 3.6 AFOQT: 92/77/50/60/43 PCSM: 65 Flight Hours: 40 Age: 33 LORs: 3; 2 Pilots Active duty(O-3 and O-4) and 1 retired 0-6 General Serigion - Army. Prior Service Experience: Fuels, AF Active duty: E-3. Career goals: Retire as an air-force fighter pilot. Notable Achievements: CAM/ST for the undefeated Mens Airforce Soccer team. Hi all, I’ve been waiting to post here with some fresh AFOQT/TBAS scores, but I still haven’t been able to sit for the test, so I figured I should start in the meantime. Once the recruiter heard my age (32), he balked at pilot talk, and went straight into pushing me toward CSO or Intel (neither of which I have interest in). Background: BS/MS Aero Eng. Entire post-college work history is govt. contracting, in Aero Eng. related fields. Oh, and my work site shares the airfield with the Guard unit I am most interested in (what I’m getting at, is they know the group I work for, and that I know what the locality entails). The past couple of years I’ve been workin…

  15. I'm a Sophmore in College currently. I'm still debating on whether or not to go the ROTC route or the Guard/Reserve Route. Academics: 3.5 GPA, Business Administration (I struggled a little bit in my math courses, I am hoping to boost my GPA up to 3.67 or 3.7. My Program GPA is 3.7 though). Team Work: I've played Roller Hockey off and on since I was a kid, I started playing Ice Hockey a few years ago. (After I transfer to the state school, I hope to join the Club Teams for both roller and ice). I worked in a Tire Change/Hot Rod/Off Road shop. Also have Lawncare Experience from a previous job and worked at a Flea Market prior to that. Regarding the …

  16. I turn 29 in July. Unfortunately I was a bit late in the game deciding I wanted to fly for the Air Force, and by the time I did, it took me ages to actually correspond with an officer recruiter (like almost a year). I finally managed to get in touch with one late last year who told me there was no chance for me because of my age and pulled the plug on submitting me to the April board because apparently I'm officially in waiver territory. I've been told by a lot of people in the Air Force that it can be done, but the recruiter told me they're all wrong. However, turns out I've got until my birthday to make something work out with the Air National Guard. So far I've ap…

I am a 26 year old Active Duty F-15 Crew Chief stationed at Langley with 4 1/2 years of service, 10 classes left toward my Pro Aero degree at Embry-Riddle, and 12 flight hours. I am also currently working toward A&P certification, and will complete my PPL prior to December. I will complete my degree May 2006, three months prior to the end of my enlistment. I will take the AFOQT and the BAT some time after I test for SSgt in May. OK, so here's the bad stuff. Three and a half years ago I was arrested on Elmendorf AFB and charged with DUI on my way home to the dorms. I received an Article 15 and a reduction in pay grade. 21. I do not use drugs recreationally. I do not agree with them. I have known Adderall is a drug that is prescribed for ADD, ADHD and so on... Right now I’m a senior in high school and currently in a intense curriculum program and working around 30 hours a week. In order to keep up with school I have used Adderall around once a week to every other week. I am not prescribed Adderall and I have never used it for anything else other than to complete school work. Even though that probably doesn’t matter. How does the Air Force look at this? What are my chances of becoming a helo pilot? Other than this case I have never used any drugs that were not prescribed to me.

At a critical age, 25 and want to go balls to the wall but also be strategic as well with getting a slot. I am wondering if I should enlist in a guard unit or try my chances with AFRC which I heard the odds are really good getting a slot. I think OTS is out of the question with these scores. Afoqt scores, taken twice but got the okay for a 3rd attempt after 150days (Form T waiver) Pilot :83 Nav: 36 Acad: 34 Verb:47 Quant :26 B.A. 3.59 GPA PCSM is 75 with 72 flight hours, but will max to 87 at 201 flight hours.

Here are a few things about me: -25 year old female -5'6" - fairly athletic -3.89 GPA -Taught health and PE for a couple years, then moved into the training field in the aviation industry -No flight time, but have been studying pilot books, videos and could start PPL training if needed -Highly motivated and dedicated personality - worked full time during college to pay my way through -Haven't taken the AFOQT yet, but have been studying! I have my sights set on being a fighter pilot for a few different reasons, but would just love to f…

I am trying to get a feel for what my chances are at obtaining a UPT position. I have been in the guard for 6 years, TSgt and I am a Weapons Director (GCI). I am 28 yrs old so I know time is almost over. Not too picky on what to fly, fighters would be awesome an although I have heard success stories with scores less than these those were probably isolated events.
