  1. https://news.clearancejobs.com/2018/10/15/dods-defense-travel-system-hacked-employee-credit-card-info-stolen/ We can add DTS to that long list of breaches. Everyone has my SSN now and a great credit score so it's okay. In June 2015, the United States Office of Personnel Management announced that it had been the target of a data breach targeting the records of as many as four million people. This story came from my Google news feed. Damn you Goolgle, your algorithms know me too well. Can your algorithms find women?

  3. https://patch.com/pennsylvania/horsham/horsham-military-pilot-injured-daughter-killed-plane-crash I’ve know Deane for a long time. I first got to know him when he was flying F-16s in the Fort Smith, AR guard. Terrible news to say the least. Many thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family for the loss of their daughter.

Just got a new update to TIMS a few weeks ago and now students can't view opted or un-submitted gradesheets. This is definately a change, and hurts mission planning a little bit. Has anyone experienced this, or found a good workaround? For example, when we start a new block, we can't see what we're opted for. Thanks Lt Winslow @ CAFB

If you own a house in Florida, filed a homestead exemption, and have been deployed in the last year to OEF/OIF/OND, read this: https://srcpa.org/. Florida approved an additional tax exemption on top of your homestead exemption proportional to the days in 2010 deployed. Looks like it'll be every year from now on, too, so keep it in mind next time you get non-vold to Balad. If you're home right now, you should get something in the mail, so this is more for guys that are deployed or instinctively throw anything from the Taxman's office in the shredder. Here's the application. https://srcpa.org/dr501m.pdf

For anyone that knows the T-6 pubs, I am tring to find anything in writing concerning the requirements for a pilot to re-inspect the aircraft after getting strapped in and after a crew chief has made an "adjustment" to the jet. For example, you get strapped in and you get an OBOGS fail annunciator so the crew chief opens the access door to the OBOGS system, corrects what he thinks is the problem and closes the door and the annunciator goes away. Are we obligated to get out and basically do another walk around?

Saw the prior posts on FWQ but am curious what the current status is? Got a fellow switching Army helos to AF helos(reserve) and per the recent AFI he would still need to attend phase II T6s followed by MWS helo school. Anybody know how that works? He's over 30 so is it considered FWQ still or UPT or what? Age waiver required? What base is conducting this training? XL?

I read a book about F100 FAC pilots in a book called Bury us upside-down and noticed in alot of pictures they had the "aussie" style boonie hats with one side folded up. I guess it was in-country tradition tradition. Do they still use these? IF not I was wondering if there are any other in-country traditions. Thanks guys

I am wondering which would most of the folks here rather have: a great unit and mission in a less than cool spot like Cannon, or what they think is a less than cool mission in a great spot? Would it matter if you had a family? Just sort of curious.

If there was ever a left wing nutcase it's Al Franken. How anyone in their right mind could vote for him I have no idea, but of course Minnesota voters are about as weird as they come based on past results. I believe this guy is the dictionary definition of a total dick.

I was reading an AFA magazine a couple months back and I saw a picture of a B-52 pilot attached to an Army unit acting as a forward air contoller. Is this a volunteer only assignment? What are other requirements?

Hey ya'll, I am going to be studying in Vienna for a month this summer and then traveling for a week with some guys around Europe. We will be heading to Amsterdam for a couple days which brings me to the question, is there anything that I need to watch out for that could hurt my eligibility for UPT? Obviously I don't plan on smoking pot there, but is there anything else I need to look out for (is absinth a problem, I don't know much about it)? Also, any tips or must see things while I am there? Thanks ya'll

by Capt. Eric Badger 379th Air Expeditionary Wing Public Affairs 12/5/2005 - SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- Families normally get together for holidays -- but at 25,000 feet? Not hardly. But two pilots from the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing found a way to accomplish a mission and have a family reunion at the same time. Capts. Greg Matthew Amig reunited in the skies over Southwest Asia, where Greg refueled his brother’s aircraft on Thanksgiving Day. The brothers are stationed together at this forward-deployed base. Greg is 340th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron KC-135 Stratotanker pilot. He is deployed from Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. Matthew is a 16t…

  24. Defense Contractors must see the USAF as a bunch of small town rubes running down the Midway with overalls filled to the brim with $20 bills. A seven-year, billion dollar investment by the Air Force in a new logistics management system has turned out to be a bust, officials say. “I am personally appalled at the limited capability the program has produced relative to that amount of investment,” Air Force Comptroller Jamie Morin told the Senate Armed Services readiness and management support subcommittee on Wednesday. The Air Force is now trying to sort out what can be salvaged from its investment on the Expeditionary Combat Support System and map out a way forw…
