Just a curiosity item - I know it's been discussed before, but we were told a few weeks ago that the CAF has basically had its fighter pipeline shutdown. Story is that the 16 schoolhouse has a minimum 12-13 month wait for the forseeable future. Does anyone else have the latest word on A-10s, 15Cs, etc? I know a few 10s dropped across the bases last time around and I've been told that there are about 30 dudes chilling at Tyndall as we speak still waiting to start Eagle RTU. A few of us were just wondering if we should just expect more of the same out of 38s in the next few months as we've been seeing.

What would you say the feasibility would be of starting and running a business while on AD? Do you think I would have adequate free time? ...should I wait until i'm 32 and in the reserves/guard to start a business?

If I setup an allotment through mypay, whatever amount I sign up for does it take it out of one pay period or split between 2? I am trying to set it up online and it says it will be reflected in my 15 Feb pay. Is that half on the 15th and half on the 30th or all of it on the 15th?

Why? Am I alone in thinking it has to do with a stretched to the max military and an unsustainable ops tempo that have whittled some sharp points dull? I have always been the guy that says The Man is out to A$$ F#@ you and Im sure the aircrews will get blamed somehow. I just hope something gets done besides blaming the broken aircrews. Shits just not falling out of the sky for no reason. Either the airframe or the crew is breaking.

Anyone here have any knowledge of how easy it is/was to go from say an Intel officer position to a rated pilot etc position? I’m looking to see what the chances are of jumping ship from non rated to rated positions.

Rather than reinvent the wheel, I have a request... I would like a copy of an ejection seat briefing guide that is given to pax. I don't mean the classroom briefing guide that the pilot briefs before the flight, but more what an egress instructor gives a pax during their seat training before the flight.... discussing seat position, canopy jettison, post ejection, etc... Obviously I don't need specifics to a particular kind of jet. I’ve scoured the JTR (only outlines must be used for “temporary lodging” and “must use government lodging if available”). Been given the green light by finance saying the Pentagon doesn’t have an attached lodging requirement so good on the economy. Am I good to AirBnB with TLE? Anyone else see this video from the Blue Angles in Detroit. Some guy with a drone got pretty damn close to these guys. Not to mention he's waaaay above legal drone height. The tallest building in Detroit is 727" and it looks like he's well above that. The OP took down his video (that had his name all over it) but someone else posted it up. Some people are not that bright.

What is the current status with ‘hawg retirement? I have heard various opinions such as they are re-winging all 281 aircraft (implies non of them are going to be retired). I’ve also heard that they’re planning on retiring about 40 or so aircraft, and several of those will be from guard units. Any concrete answers out there? Or is it a constant variable depending on politics and current day events? Fingers crossed they’ll keep all 281 🤞

All, I’m looking on info for Edwards AFB. I’m considering taking an assignment out that way but I’m looking for the pros and cons of a flying assignment there. My concerns Housing - availability, best locations Schools - elementary and middle school age Spouse education - my wife is considering going back to school Off duty - outdoors type activities, hunting, fishing, hiking, really anything not in front of a tv.
