Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Indvidual Drill Evaluation (IDE) Worksheet? This is the form used to grade IDEs at FT. We need it for LLAB tomorrow. Thanks!

All, I'm looking for information concerning whether anyone has still commissioned after their det/cc has recommended that they be disenrolled. If they didn't commission, did they serve enlisted (say if they were Prior-E) or did they have to payback their scholarship? Rumors, examples, or anything is helpful.

  4. I went a few pages back and didn't find much on this, but per forum etiquette, sorry if this topic has been answered. I am currently a sophomore in the process of joining the detachment at my school. I've done the application and as of now I'm just waiting until orientation. I understand AFROTC is traditionally a 4 year program and I know that means I will need to double up on the courses and grasp the day to day operations in order to catch up. Has anyone here joined their schools detachment after completing a year of undergrad already and has gone through the program? If so: a) Does joining late make me less competitive for a rated slot? b) Do …

I retire in 2 months and starting to look at potential jobs. One thing I was considering was JROTC instructor but wanted to see if anyone had any experience knowledge on what it's like. From what I've found it talks a number of things including drill, marksmanship, teaching classes, among other things. Are these classes similar to ROTC classes or do they expect me to roll right in and teach these kids calculus? How do the bonuses work? One location has a $6200 stipend which I assume is a one time deal but also returns the AF contribution to the instructor? Just looking for any info possible.

OK so I work my a$$ off this semester in AFROTC. Complete Arnold Air training. Seriously, I worked like crazy!!! AND THEN! I get this email below:... "You are being dropped from our program due to receiving a “D“ in AS200 class. According to AFROTCI 36-2011, the regulation states that “cadets must receive a “C-“ or better in AS classes and LLAB. When the cadet receives a grade of “D” or “F” in AS class, the cadet must be dismissed from the program (non-contract cadets).” I am NOT getting kicked out. I have no idea what to do. I had a B in the class before the final. The only reason I failed is because I got no sleep before the final and failed it. Anyone know what o…

mods feel free to delete this if you feel it belongs in a more general topic or if i missed one that already exists. What is the policy for taking leave as a Lieutenant on casual status, awaiting a UPT class date? Is it any different because of AETC or training status? I ask because it was generally not approved when I was an enlisted MRA MX student back in 2011.

I am looking into joining AFROTC in the fall; however, since I will be a crosstown student and I will have the option of deciding between USC (Detachment 060) and LMU (Detachment 040). I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to pick the most suitable detachment?

Well to make a long story short (without all the circumstantial information) I had 2 MIP's (Minor In Possession/Minor In Consumption, same offense and legal actions for both), one when I was 16 and another when I was 17 about 6 months apart from each other. The ironic thing about all this is that I really dont like alcohol, I actually despise it for many reasons, but at the same time it is fun sometimes with friends and whatnot, that cannot be denied. The charges were dropped because I agreed to attend a 10 week drug awareness program, as well as because I was not 18 I could not even be formally charged. Atleast in the state of washington. I know that the police report…

  12. Today, we were briefed on new scholarships the Air Force is offering: if you're interested, qualified and are selected, you will agree to becoming a CSO or ABM and will therefore go on scholarship and have priority for field training selection (like some of the tech majors). The other side of that is you're locked in to one of those two AFSCs; you don't have the option of applying for other rated or non-rated career fields after field training. Has anyone else heard of this? What do you all think? Worth shooting for?

Seeing how fast the last new cadet thread got off topic, I thought I would post a general request for any sage advice or comments some of you experienced types could offer, I've been following this forum for quite a while and have always appreciated the perspective of those who have BTDT. I'd really appreciate some perspective on ROTC program and what is and isn't really applicable to life in the real AF. I'm interested in competing for a pilot slot if all the medical requirements line up but definately understand the real chance of it not working out so any comments on interesting nonrated career fields I should look into would be welcome. If you have anything to offer t…

Hello all and thanks for taking the time to read and answer. Sorry if this topic has been covered, I have been lurking and reading, searching, and talked with my local Det and stumbled upon this question. I was AD Enlisted Mar2003-Mar2005 at which point I force shaped. I am about to finish my Associates at the community college under the impression that there was a 2 year program for ROTC. I visited my Det and after reading the forums as well as a few other places I have decided to stretch my education out a little bit to hit the 3 year mark in ROTC. My original plan was to do my first year as100+200 doubled up on non-scholarship while I took a couple of upper grad …

I'm an ANG guy of almost 8 years (mostly DSG, now Title 32) and I've accumulated a lot of retirement points, but not quite the 1460 points that the O-1E pay-grade requires. Not trying to count my chickens before they hatch, but I have been trying to figure out what I can do to squeeze those last points out before commissioning. Does anyone know if OTS itself contributes to those points? In my mind, it should, since it is my understanding you are paid at an enlisted pay while training. Also, if anyone with ANG/AFRC experience has figured out any tricks to getting more points, I'd love to hear them!

Hello to all, My apologies if this has already been covered. For officer training school, do you have to apply for multiple jobs, or can you strictly apply for one job? IE, I want to be a pilot, am I forced into applying for another job, or can I choose whether I apply for jobs other than pilot? Reddit threads have made me question my knowledge on the process. Thanks!

Hey y'all, I stumbled upon this post in r/airforceots on Reddit about the April, July, and August OTS classes being on "hold", particularly for those going rated and doctors/nurses. Anyone else hear anything about this that can confirm or refute? I just got confirmation to attend OTS for the April class (21-04) as a Guard pilot candidate. Supposed to be receiving my orders on Monday. Thanks in advance to anyone who has some additional insight!

  20. Howdy, Married ANG guy here with a baby (both of whom will be going to UPT with me). Finally just got my dates for TFOT, IFT, and UPT. I'm sure I'll have some briefings that deal with this when I'm at drill next month, but I figured I could start getting educated on what kind of pay and entitlements I can expect during different phases of the training pipeline. Currently I'm sworn in / gained as an E3. For example, I should be eligible for BAH while I'm TFOT, correct? Just want to make sure my paperwork is squared away so that I don't have to worry about my mortgage payment while I'm away for 8 weeks. Thanks for any help / resources you can offer!

When and how many times is the PFT given to cadets? Once a year or something? And if you need to improve on the running will ROTC help that to get the 6:36 mile or will it just keep you in shape? Thanks

I'm a non-rated folk but my EAD isn't until 25 Oct and will not be reporting to ASBC until 3 Nov. Right now my military stipend and family helps me get through. However, starting June I will not have any income and will have to move out of campus housing. I know rent and bills are going to start stacking up (especially my LT loan in September). Does anyone know a decent paying job ($14/hour and up) I can get as a temporary fix until I go active duty? BTW, I live in Los Angeles and will have a BS in Aviation Administration. Thanks in advance!!!

I'm just curious how many of you guys commissioning here shortly are prior service, and what you thought of ROTC. I've done 5 years Active Army and am going back into AFROTC (I did one year, way back when). When I hear of kids saying ROTC was basically gay or worthless I cannot help but be stoked to go back! hah I say kids, I'm only 23 but two years deployed kind of changes you perspectives.
