Correct me if I am wrong but I thought there were TWO incidents? The possible fuel thieves that were released then the Brits arrested an Iranian late last week with ties to a possible operation against the bombers. After Operation Spiderweb I would rather they act on the side of caution.

Lots of confusing info. The first guys caught were quickly released and it was suggested they might have simply been trying to steal fuel. Now they arrested an Iranian and people are paying more attention.

Maybe he's making room for more diversity on the staff. Doing so obviously made the US military better. His current team seems rather monochromatic.

From the recording it does not sound like it was acknowledged. Regardless, if you are on an IFR clearance, without declaring you can't just decide to change altitudes on your own. Dude goes on to say "we were trying to prevent declaring an emergency"....then you need a clearance!

Considering the released the dudes they caught last time, I'd be concerned too.

We are in agreement, they are 100% wrong. However.. this is what the Air Force is going to get when you gut training. Giving guys and girls their wings after a T-6 only syllabus. More time in the air is the fix.

Disagree...basic IFR rules, what if there was another aircraft between them and 12k? If you are going to descend on your own you have to tell someone.
