  1. Arg - is sounds good in theory but the property owners always gets screwed. In short, rent control/freeze is a city program for qualifying seniors and people with disabilities, or a broader political proposal to halt rent increases on all rent-stabilized apartments. The NYC program provides a tax credit to the landlord to cover rent increases, supposedly making the rent payment stay the same for eligible tenants. A political rent freeze, on the other hand, would involve a decision by the Rent Guidelines Board to prevent any rent increases on rent-stabilized units for a set period.
  2. I don't work for Beehive but have visited their facility a few times. At AFA they rolled out their 100LBN thrust engine which is a game changer. If you know anything about affordable munitions space the brewing fight with China has spawned several program to mass produce cruise missiles and other munitions at a cost 1//10th to 1/20th of legacy munitions like Tomahawk, JASSM and JASSM-ER. The opening 72 hours of a fight with China are likely to consume nearly every weapon in stock (50,000 units), so the services have launched an effort to greatly increase quantities at a much lower price point. Companies Like Anduril are trying to mass produce Barracuda for less than $200K. Believe it or not the high cost component in these systems is the engine and current providers charge around $120K per unit. Beehive is driving to get that cost (en masse), down to $25K.
  3. Now that the Democrats capitulated they are devouring themselves. 40 days of chaos for absolutely NOTHING...you guys must be so proud. They are calling for Schumer's head and resignation.
  4. HP is a leader in building some of these high end printers...printing in a type of vinyl that uses one of the most common manufacturing materials in the world. Other companies like Beehive are 3d printing jet engines out of metal powder. As you correctly point out, STEM and AI are the path to wealth for any young people who want to make a difference.
  5. It is and that is aided by additive manufacturing which scares the crap out the OEMs. Hopefully the trend continues and we can distribute the manufacturing process to smaller companies that can 3D print key components and drive down costs while speeding acquisition.
  6. Won't matter soon, free/cheap beer at all those soon to be city owned/run grocery stores.
  7. @HuggyU2 I have the X4 and just this week mounted it externally via a mount that attaches to my underwing tie down. I had it up to 180 Knots IAS and it didn't shake a bit.
  8. At the recommendation of Boeing, both UPS AND Purple have grounded their MD-11's.
  9. All things being equal, I'd rather have the gas.
  10. Took my wife to the shooting range in Conecuh Alabama yesterday, as we were wrapping up we had a very unexpected flyover. I thought it might be @Hacker in FiFi but after checking the schedule online I am guessing it was Doc returning home after cancelling the rest of their season for an engine change in Panama City. Must have been a sight to see the sky filled with these beautiful birds. The sound was incredible.
  11. A buddy who is a long time captain at Delta posted today basically saying through no fault of your own sometimes your luck just runs out. I know they will find the cause and I seriously doubt there was thing anyone of these guys could have done. Same for the people on the ground including a baby from reporting. Rest in peace.
  12. Trump and Hegseth have signaled potential obstacles to post service employment...we shall see if it happens. I was an SVP at a company and they sent me to the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC for a senior executive leadership development program. While I was there I met a lady who newly hired to be our company CIA account VP. Her name sounded familiar so I googled her and discovered she was one of the 51 that signed the Russia Intel Memo about the Hunter Biden Latptop. I was absolutely stunned, does anyone bother to check these things? Trump was elected and he revoked her security clearance, she was gone the next day.

Problem solved...taxpayers saved a ton. Well done.
  14. MD-11 - Not good. Really ungood - Takeoff incident. Engine was on fire. A friend at the airport says approximately 10 city blocks near the airport are on fire near the airport. UPS.mp4
  15. Prototypical C Model Eagle driver....need I say more?
  16. I learned in a Supercub that had a 135HP Lycoming...it was a beast and I thought normal ops for a Cub. There is NOTHING like slipping a Cub (or other taildragger), over the tree to a greaser one wheel landing on the grass....best if done at Sunset. I am currently shopping airpark runway options. I looked at a 5280' grass strip on 80 acres two weeks ago. Looking at 361 acres this week.

Airmen plead guilty to false statements in shooting that suspended M18 "Details about his death were released for the first time Friday, including that the alleged shooter, Marcus White-Allen, had pointed the gun at Lovan’s chest in a “joking manner.” White-Allen after the shooting allegedly urged the other two surviving airmen to lie about what happened, according to the statement."
  18. Cruiser was confirmed today...god help those still on active duty.

Where? Always looking for cheap .223. Also, just bought my first AK...had no idea 7.62 ammo was so expensive these days, I always thought it was cheaper than .223. War in Ukraine?
  20. I would say "it depends." Like it or not College Football generates a LOT of money. Some of those funds are then used to subsidize other sports. If using tax payer dollars then I would prefer to see an analysis of the funds generated hiring a high power coach. Using Coach Prime as an example...horrible coach, but the reputation and "hope" resulted in several seasons of sold out games, increased TV coverage, merch sales that greatly increase AD revenue of the U of C. Interestingly the big buy outs are now being paid by the boosters, in several cases buy a single booster. Break Break - add another one to the list, Hugh Freeze finally got canned by Auburn yesterday. A $15.8M buyout to walk away. This situation does lead to some irony like Will Muschamp trolling the Gamecocks by posting a picture form the stands celebrating as his son helps Vanderbilt beat the team that paid him $13M to leave.
