What about Indiana!? Holy smokes I never thought I’d see Indiana football mentioned in any discussion of possible college football Champions! Anybody think they can keep it up through the playoffs?

Cignetti had some excellent FCS playoff runs at JMU including a title game appearance. If they can beat Ohio State, they can beat anyone.

Giant bunch of crybabies.

Weren't you just crying about ND bias like 3 posts ago? 🤣

Bowls are going to be a thing of the past shortly.

Florida State, Auburn, UCF, Baylor, Rutgers, Temple, Kansa, Iowa State, Notre Dame, and Kansas State have all declined bowl games.

The sponsors for these bowls have got to be shitting themselves right now.

And lets be completely clear.

There is EXTREME BIAS for Notre Dame...are you tracking the CFP committee made a "special" deal with Notre Dame?

In the Spring of 2025 the CFP signed a MOU with Notre Dame and starting next year if Notre Dame is ranked 12 or better under the current 12 team layoff or 13th or better if they expand to 14 teams, Notre Dame is GUARANTEED to be in the CFP.

No other team got an MOU like that, yeah no bias at all...

Throw a little bourbon in your coffee CH, just flipping you some shit. I don't even like ND, though I'm all for them sitting out the bowl game if that's what they want to do. Frankly, if you're not playing for the natty, what good is done by playing in the ma' and pa' waffle house bowl? ND certainly doesn't need the money. Lots of people wrapping themselves into a pretzel to be upset about a team they don't even like, not playing in a bowl that nobody cares about.

I'm good...and I gave up Bourbon for rum for which I am now a complete snob, you should try it.

I have a lot of friends from ND and frankly when I played ball, they were the dirtiest team we ever took the field against. Interestingly they spent the last few weeks trolling Miami of several Miami websites but have suddenly vanished now that their bubble has burst.

Interesting note about the bowl games, they generate a lot of revenue for the local area where they are played and for the teams, those funds can be channeled into other sports. Did you see the fines being handed out by the conferences for teams skipping a bowl game...$500K per team...such a waste.

More than anything I hate the special treatment and the MOU serves to show the bias continues and is blatant even though they haven't won a natty in 32 years.

Profitable for the conferences, not the schools except for the big name bowls that are now the CFP. Some conferences profit share and some don't. Schools are required to buy giant chunks of tickets that often go unsold and leaves the schools on the hook. Schools will spend $1-3 million just to get the team and school to the game and back. With NIL, transfer portal, and CFP, I see a large chunk of the bowls going away.

I think as much as it’s gonna cost them in trash talk, the colleges that said “no thanks we’re out” absolutely recognize their coordinated power to force the expansion. This is effectively public collective bargaining.

At the end of the day the league and all the money people behind it are here to make more money.
