Can you imagine if this bitter old @unt had been elected.

Now she thinks only a DNC female can be POTUS.

Yeah, it's starting to happen more often.  He can't control it

I think it has a lot to do with his Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, she is no nonsense and he seems to listen to her.  He was certainly more (relatively), disciplined during this election.  Supposedly she has drastically reduced access and the ability of his family and far right influencers to simply walk into the Oval.

My wife hates politics and rarely watches any coverage but together we watched part of one of his speeches in the Middle East last week.  The minute he went off script and started dropping the "most powerful, rigged election, horrible people" comments she couldn't help herself..."can't he just keep his mouth closed and enact his policies."

I find the irony quite thic with Tapper and his book, "exposing" the Biden decline when he was fully a player in it.  He's spinning his part.

As for who was running the nation, imo, it was the primary gatekeepers, Jill and Chief/Dep of Staff and a few read-in die hard staffers.

Tapper used to be a journalist, I used to watch his segments on CNN, sad when he converted to mouthpiece.  Joe Scarborough is the worst - “I spent, as I’ve said before, two and a half, three hours with Joe Biden in the White House, all over the White House, talking at length, at length and in depth about foreign policy matters. And he was as sharp as anybody else I’ve spoken to and spoke actually like a man who’s been doing this since he was 29 years old and knew world leaders.

The GOP seems determined to investigate what happened at the end of JB's term, yesterday senior DNC folks suggested any investigation should be stopped now that Joe has been diagnosed with cancer.  I hope they continue, not as retribution but I think we as American's deserve to know who was leading the country and how do we stop that from happening again.

The mainstream media is finally acknowledging what happened and they are using Tapper's book (Original Sin), a recent summary - "The inescapable conclusion is that party leaders were well aware of Biden's diminished capacity and were more than willing to mislead the voters."

Is increasing the federal deficit $3.8T something that “had to be done” just like the tariffs? What’s the plan guys?

I'm not a financial expert...not that many of us are (paging @Finance_Guy)...but I've heard that the CBO uses fairly static analysis when scoring bills.

So in this case, tax cuts are continued, but so are the spending levels...which leads to the that score.  Just like the outyears in the FYDP, the numbers don't and likely won't reflect reality when it gets here.

But it will be interesting to see if D's and R's are willing to actually cut discretionary, let alone entitlement spending.  My guess is it'll always be the Party in the minority demanding cuts because they realize it'll never happen...and in four years magically the new minority party will wake up and realize they've always been fiscal hawks.

Probably time to come up with a new club in on-line political arguments...

The problem isn't the parties, it's the people. We've reached the part of the cycle where everyone expects everything for less than they put in to the system.

We'll either go the route of Greece (in progress) or a big, scary, deadly catastrophe will finally jolt people into a new era of "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."

Dose BBB bump them off the NFA registry or just eliminate the $200 tax?

From what I can decode from the clutter.  As BBB is written now, suppressors are completely written out of the NFA.  No tax or registration and destruction of previous registrations.  SBRs will be worked in Senate.  The removal is under the Hearing protection act and there is another option in there that only removes the tax as a separate rider.

Dear God, please don’t let the Senate fuck this up.

I'm predicting the tax goes away but registration and forms process stays.  Maybe they'll surprise me
