FTI uses United's sims & facilities and now with the consolidation of the training facilities all to Denver, the 737 sims that they use are going away. I don't know what FTI is going to use now. These are also the same sims that were used for the sim/CRM portion of United's interview that has/is going away.

Reporting now that the shooter is an ex-disgruntled news anchor who was fired and specifically targeted the deceased news anchor because she made racial comments towards him. Also reporting he has posted a Go Pro video of the shooting on his FB account. If true, he's F**KED!!

Just be up front and honest when the question comes up. If in the application process the question is asked, definitely don't lie and definitely divulge everything because you'll have to anyway when it comes time for your security clearance. Side note: I received 2 underage alcohol violations and had 9 moving violations before I was commissioned and it didn't affect me in any way. I was just honest with what happened. Send applications out to as many units (Guard & Reserve) as you can and just be yourself when it comes time to visit and interview. Per a friend of mine in the Reserves - "we can train a monkey to fly, we want to know what kind of person you are." Good luck...

I have documented disabilities with the VA and it didn't affect my Class 1 or my airline hire.

That's exactly what happened, had to go through a re-qual course. What's also funny about that is that I PCS'd 4 months after I got home from Bagram to another MWS and had to go through another TX course for that.

Sounds like my 180+ non-flying to Bagram. We had a volunteer in the squadron to go but he was a 1Lt. The position called for a rated O-4 / senior O-3 with no waiver authority to change the requirement. Because of that, our volunteer couldn't go and I got non-vol'd instead. So I show up to Bagram and my counter-part (same position) was a non-rated 1Lt... Needless to say I was pissed!

The 47th (USAFR) at DM is slated to go F-16's and combat coded when the A-10 goes away also. That's another possibility.

I would not spend that kind of money on a USAF watch but I also wouldn't spend that kind of money on an airframe watch either. That doesn't mean I'm not proud of my time in the USAF. All of the services have their problems and nobody is really happy with the current state of the military but to say people wouldn't buy it because they are not happy with Big Blue right now is naive. I would bet that there are 25-50 people/aircrew in all the USAF that would buy this watch but this forum is not a good cross-section of those people. Note: I did get out of AD because I wasn't happy and joined the Reserves and I am starting with the airlines next month.

I might get crucified for this but... Cut the B-1, KC-10 and F-15. No need for a non-nuclear bomber, the KC-135 and soon KC-46 will cover AR and the F-16 and F-22 will cover A-A.
