  2. Like a flu shot.
  3. I'm not scoffing, I posted earlier that I'm pro FE, but you wont find a post, or statement from me anywhere saying an airplane designed without an FE or Nav should have one. I point out mistakes that were made on both sides. So it's not about FEs being removed, they were never there to begin with. Shit happens with and without FEs and Navs.
  4. I forgot what thread I was in. Anyway I know of two instances where a 16th SOS Evaluator Gunner took down co-pilots. The way it worked then was the gunner filled out the Fm8 and the CC either concurred or non concurred. Both cases he concurred. The infraction? Walking between #3 engine and the fuselage while the engine was running. Yes, it happened twice, several years apart.
  5. Yep, who knew that Airbus was right about computers and aviation. Is it part of the training to ask if they miss the FE or does it just always come up in conversation?
  6. One more question. Who the hell is wearing a wedding ring while TDY? I'm kidding
  7. They won't be doing it they'll be relying on a computer to do it for them. It is the new flying world yall live in.
  8. Yep, and the eng called go around(I think twice) in Kuwait, still didn't help. You have to make sure the guy driving heard what you said and it registered in his brain. A pilot fighting with the plane to get it to do something and not saying anything was concern for me. In those situations I always tried to get them to say something, let us know what your thinking, let us help you, this is a crew airplane. Eighteen of my twenty-one years of flying was as an FE so I am pro FE. I think I earned my pay when I was doing it. I wish all of us did. My best compliment from a pilot was that if all FEs were like you they would never have designed the J model, then he bought me a beer.

It almost seems they are trying to make this place suck way more than it has to
  10. That's always a fun argument. Didn't help the crew in Honduras though. Late 90s. This smells a lot like that. I no longer have the privelige so I cant. Read the AIB after I posted that.
  11. Missed meals for all flightline folks!
  12. You mean the engineer has nothing to fuss about during decent?.......oh wait.. I was just putting a little legacy humor in a Jay thread
  13. Flaps, cross control and NTS.
  14. Wonder how far back his "always" goes.

Hey, I'm glad they put the speed limit on the back gate road to 45 again.

Everyone knows that particular airplanes performance goes down as the suckage level of the place they're asked to go to goes up. Example, Peterson in the summertime, no problem. Operate out of Cannon, no can do.

I see my cost saving suggestion to let prisoners drive the truck was disapproved.

  20. I've been teaching that for years and no I'm not joking. I almost got run over by a fire truck after an egress. Almost stepped on a snake once too.
  21. Can't happen this way all the time but there have been several nonstop flights from FL. We took an H to Italy in 23.7. Depends on the crisis I guess. One of the justifications to put refueling on the gunships was to get to the fight in hours instead of days.
  22. Good thing it didn't hit that 74. Wonder if they took off. "Ladies and gentlemen we just had an airplane crash in front of us. We may be delayed a bit".

  24. If I heard the last line in that vid right, she thinks an AR15 is full auto.
