Bin Laden dead!
Serious question time. Hypothetically if this was a AF asset that crashed in the compound, would this incident show up on the pilots record? Or would the level of risk of the mission have justified the loss of an aircraft (ie Son Tay). I don't know how the army works with respect to Class A incidents.

CV-22 out of UPT?
You PCS to KIKR then immediately go TDY to MCAS New River for about 4-5 months for initial training on the MV-22. Then you come back to KIKR for 5ish months for mission training on the CV. The Osprey break all the time and the MC rate is abysmal so good luck finishing on time at KIKR. Then you PCS to either Hurlburt or Cannon, no dream sheet just needs of the AF

More Uniform Changes!
I think that is in reference to them having to "maintain" a wheel cap. It's kinda like all officers having to maintain a mess dress

Except that the reg said "desert sand". So unless there is a desert volcanic island, we're out of luck

Senators Ask Panetta For Estimate To Terminate JSF Program
Is there really a need for a LO CAS aircraft? I can see interdiction and other deep strike (sts) aircraft but not one who's primary mission is to provide CAS to Marines. I don't know what other platform that they could have gone to otherwise but the STOVL -35 has been the long pole in the program for a while

Anyone looked at the Boneyard on Google Maps lately?
Too bad we can't salvage parts from old aircraft. The man cave needs an ejection seat and a control stick beer tap

Stealth Helo in Bin Laden Raid ?
Marine One was going to be a US-101, not an S-92. The VH-92 was a proposal by Sikorsky but it lost out to LM for the contract. Also the stabilizer on the wreckage is at the base of the tail a la H-60, verses at the top left side a la S-92

CSAR in OEF
And to think that there are still some UPT FLT/CC's and SQ/CC's who bring in studs and question them on their decision to put Helo's #1 on their dream sheet...

Bin Laden dead!
According to this they were inserted by what sounds like the 160th. And that one of the 47's was damaged during the raid and was subsequently destroyed by US forces. Would love to see the stories of the raid when they come to light

CSAR-X
Some of the higher ups that i've talked to like the idea of a CVLSP and CSAR -60M because it eases training and enables x-flow among the AF helo community more readily. Whether it will actually happen or is just a pipe dream of some O-6's remain to be seen
