Delta Rocket launch
The Delta IV's, especially the Heavy's burn hydrogen rich at ignition. All of the Delta launches have the flame at liftoff. This was the first flight out of Vandy so the pad structure is different than out at CCAFS possibly adding to the fireball. The burning is just the insulation on the CCB's burning. https://spaceflightnow.com/delta/d351/launch/01.jpg https://www.aviationnow.com/media/images/awst_images/large/AW_02_21_2005_804_L.jpg

Google is your friend For the most part- Air Liason Officer
Air Force officials lift rated requirement- Navy Pilots Flew Helicopters Into Lake Tahoe for Facebook Picture [Video]
The UH's here have the same TOLD as the Army however our shiny TH's don't have the hover ceilings. Only the max weights that you can fly with in each condition. Don't know if the 60 is like that as well.- Navy Pilots Flew Helicopters Into Lake Tahoe for Facebook Picture [Video]
Well they don't have any FE's so why would they need them?- Navy Pilots Flew Helicopters Into Lake Tahoe for Facebook Picture [Video]
Lake Tahoe is pretty high up so they may not have not had hover power available at their gross weight. Also those maneuvers that they were doing didn't help their power situation any better.- Latest Movies
Yeah, it was also on the TV at the end of the movie as well. "That other toys may live"- Latest Movies
It's not the latest movie, but last night i was watching Toy Story 2 and noticed that the TV in Andy's room had the Jolly Green feet on it. Anybody know why?- CV22 Crash in Afghanistan
The appendicies in the AIB had a pretty good analysis of this exact scenario. The aircraft touched down at something like 40 kts above the max roll on speed. Either way, the airframe itself held up pretty well considering it flipped over at almost 70 kts- CV22 Crash in Afghanistan
AIB is released. Long read but well worth it.- Track Selects and Assignment Nights
Ft Rucker 11-02 UH-1 Yakota UH-1 Andrews UH-1 Minot HH-60 Nellis HH-60 Moody HH-60 Kadena CV-22 Kirtland Congrats guys!- Down Goes #4
TCU accepted a Big East invitation. I really feel sorry for Boise the MWC now. With Utah, BYU, and now TCU leaving the conference that made BCS busters jizz is now no more than the WAC is. Except for AF that is- Pavehawk down in Afghanistan

The flat iron medevac birds out here still have a couple UH-1V's along with the UH-72's. Also believe that there are some UH-1H's out at White Sands doing range support for the grunts out there.- Low Fly Complaints
There are a bunch of no-fly areas out at Mother Rucker. Some of the FCIF's from the past couple years include "Avoid overflying x's house at ### coordinate. Resident is a known shooter of aircraft" We actually had some people shoot fireworks at helo's doing night remote ops a few months back. There is this one area in N Florida that belongs to a retired AF colonel who complains everytime he hears the sound of an engine. You'd think that a retired guy would love hearing the sound of freedom. Some people just don't get it i guess.- Track Selects and Assignment Nights
Ft Rucker 11-01 Drop HH-60 Kadena HH-60 Nellis HH-60 DM (Reserve) HH-60 NY ANG UH-1N Andrews UH-1N FE Warren CV-22 Kirtland- New AF Motto
Link So the generals in all of the infinite wisdom spent 10 months choosing new motto for the Air Force, that was already chosen for them over 20 years ago. Guess there's nothing better to do with this war going on and all. My favorite part of the article: 20 bucks says that in 10 years we will have another motto.- clashing military cultures
According to this I only count three Marine fighter crashes from the start of OIF to now, with two casualties. By that same token I also count six AF fighter crashes with three casualties. Maybe the Marines aren't doing enough in this war...- Track Selects and Assignment Nights
Ft Rucker 10-11 Drop HH-60 Kadena HH-60 Moody HH-60 NY ANG UH-1 Malmstrom UH-1 Minot FAIP w/ CV-22 Follow-on- The Officers Club
Currently at CBM they make an announcement before any drop that any private bottles of liquor will be confiscated and the owner charged for the remaining booze in their own bottle! Even the bubbly that the FAIPs get on assignment night are taken outside in order to not piss off the club. - Can anyone translate French?
