    New Uniforms

I have a size Medium that fits me great. A size XL that is too tight and a XXL that fits great too. I think they just randomly tack on the size tag.

    New Uniforms

I only beat you by about 6 hours and several posts... but yes it is an interesting look at how screwed up our acquisition process is.
  3. Alright guys and gals, I think I found an official and current dity rate calculator. Hang with me as I explain how to get there. 1.) First of all you need access to DPS, which you can get from your TMO. 2.) Log on to DPS and go to Self Counseling. 3.) Click on the Create Shipment Icon on the right of the screen. 4.) Follow the steps until you get to the part where you put in your weight, then you can go back and forth using the arrows at the bottom and figure out an estimate of how much you will get for your Dity or Partial Dity move. (Don't save it or go too far forward or TMO will get your request sent to them) Let me know how it works for you all! Thanks goes to a friend for finding this, I can't take credit!

    New Uniforms

Wow... a new uniform, before we even got to the mandatory wear date of the last uniform. Take some time to read this website on the production of our outstanding ABU. It really focuses on how F*d up our leadership's focus has become. http://www.tigerstripeproducts.com/airforcetiger.htm
  5. Because rather than paying my travel voucher that has been sitting at Ellsworth for almost two months... they are trying to figure out what was happening 4 years ago. So based on the timeline... I should expect my travel voucher in 4 years. If Ellsworth wasn't Ellsworth, I would vote to send Finance Guy up to sort them out.
  6. I pictured the cleaning lady from family guy after reading your post, usaf36031.
  7. Wow I have never heard of getting local legs reimbursed during a TDY enroute! So this is legit?
  8. Try checking out U4151 M&IE RATE DETERMINATION FOR OCONUS FULL DAYS in the JFTR. From how I read it, it says to claim partial you need: 1. Adequate GOVT QTRS are available on the U.S. INSTALLATION, to which the member is assigned TDY, 2. At least one meal is available and directed in a GOVT dining facility/mess on the U.S. INSTALLATION to which the member is assigned TDY, and 3. The member is not traveling. I didn't find anything about a kitchen. Hopefully someone who has more experience in this can help out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Quick question for you all. I am on a longer accompanied TDY enroute. When I checked in, the lady at the desk didn't have a place for us to stay and offered us the contract lodging till we could get on base. I asked her for a Non-A but she wouldn't give me one. No big deal. I decided instead to get an apartment out in town that was cheaper than the lodging rate at the base so it will all be reimbursed. Now I hear that this weekend they will be completely full both on base as well as their contract lodging hotel, and for the first time in a long time they will be giving out non-availability letters. So whats to stop me from "trying" to move on base this weekend and scoring a Non-A, staying in my apartment and pulling a higher meal rate for my per diem??? Am I missing something?
  9. Slight topic shift. How are the AD guys doing who got sent to Guard Units a year or so ago?
  10. Hey guys/gals, Just finished reading through the whole thread, which answered a ton of questions. I am still struggling though as to what the best thing is to do as far as orders and stuff. My wife and I are living on base at UPT and will be going TDY to Altus for KC-135 school (don't know if it is TDY enroute or if I have to come back). Is it possible for me to move out of our base house and get BAH, while still getting the TDY pay/per diem, thus getting to pocket my BAH? Thanks for the help! I appreciate it!
  11. TIB "claims" Hurlburt loadmaster... sounds like some kind of sickness or disease to me, maybe like zombie infestation, only worse.
  12. And we just got Vista in our Squadron... two weeks ago.
  13. Good info. Does this work for spouses and dependents as well?
  14. I have heard rumors, hopefully they aren't true, that the F-15C is not going to be dropped to UPT studs anymore. The student rumor mill runs deep. Any truth to this?

    USAA

You might want to consider doing some research on Gov. Crist and what he is doing to the insurance business of Florida. My brother-in-law works for State Farm, and while I don't understand all the details, he tells me that he might be out of a job due to Crist's recent push for insurance legislation. He tells me that a lot of the major companies might not be doing much insurance business in Florida, which might be why USAA isn't jumping to help you out.
  17. Some Dets are automatically awarded a certain number of DGs based on their size. If the CC thinks someone else should get it, he can submit the IMT and then they compete on the national level.
  18. In the past year (since 08-05) here at Sheppard, there have only been two Vipers dropped to AD at ENJJPT. I think 08-05 graduated in June sometime.
  19. I could see about 2 per class becoming the standard when they supposedly open the pipe up later this year.
  20. Talked to one of the last dudes to get F-16s here at Sheppard (08-08?) and he just got his IFF and RTU dates. He starts IFF in September and then RTU shortly after that. I think only 1 or 2 guys Air Force wide got Vipers after him. So he pretty much is one of the last guys on the BIT list for 16 RTU. He talked to AFPC about the status with Vipers and UPT drops and they told him starting FY 10, we would start seeing Viper drops again, but only about 50 or so per year AF wide. No clue on the A-10s, but if F-15Cs and F-15Es don't get overloaded and Vipers come back online, FY10 might be a decent year for fighters and UPT. This is of course all dependent on AFPC, so who knows. Hope this helps!
  21. R-Dub has it right. If you take care of things in that order it shows the cadre that, you want to fly, you have the academic aptitude to fly and that you are willing to put forth the money to fly. Then you do what you need to do in ROTC and you end up having a good commander's ranking. Don't sacrifice grades for your face time.
  22. I would be willing to put money on her not lasting till commissioning. I have seen this way to many times. We had a couple in my class that were probably in the top of the class... and then grades were released and so were they. These things have a way of working themselves out.
