  1. The X3 also looks to be able to slice potential passengers into mincemeat once they get out, unless they wait for the blades to stop turning.
  2. Guessing that's at FJDG? Hey at least salty corrosive air won't be a problem while they fix it... Did they ever get that B-1 out of Guam? The one that was in the hangar with the tail sticking out a couple years?
  3. THUNK. Two C-5Ms down?
  4. Why didn't they do this 8 years ago???
  5. Unless you have a big in into the agency, expect a lengthy delay in getting hired by the FAA once separated from the AF. Hiring freeze in effect at the moment due to sequestration, and without any freezes in place at my time it took almost two years to get processed and hired. Best of luck tho and hit me if you have any questions.
  6. Not the first time that's happened with that part...at all.
  7. This, sevenfold.
  8. No emotion, just think this is pretty clear cut. It's nothing like a concealed carriage permit, which is explicitly for only one state with limited reciprocity. I ran into this - my marriage is by Contract, allowed by my home state's law. No marriage certificate, just the original notarized and signed contract in a safe. Moved to Hawaii years back and my wife, while getting her driver's license ran into some issues - they were originally considering our marriage as a common law marriage, which surprisingly Hawaii doesn't go for (the conservative/liberal divide in Hawaii is really interesting). However upon some research on their part they found that it was indeed legal in the original state of issuance and honored it as such. I can see where states can say they won't issue same sex licenses (or contracts if they do that), but can't see how they won't honor licenses issued in other states. Don't see the precedent.
  9. But it works for fucking marriage licenses. You guys are being ridiculous here. So who among us here has had their marriage declared null and void just because the state you're stationed in doesn't do things exactly like the state of your residency, or where your marriage was executed? It hasn't happened.
  10. Marriage licenses granted in one state aren't exactly null and void in another state that doesn't issue them in the same way. Get it issued where it's legal, it's good to go everywhere else.
  11. Dushanbe controller always sounded like Count Chocula to me
  12. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE CHILI?!?!?
  13. It also helps to not overload the cargo floor rating by spreading the load for a vehicle that primarily gets is suspension from its tires - no suspension to compress, all the load goes to the points on the cargo floor that the tires contact. Sleeper helps spread that.

@HeloDude, yeah saw all that, zero serial #'s involved. Wonder why he was lugging around the extra upper receiver. Plus 1300 rds of ammo...not easy to walk with that...

Yeah, good luck with that. I hope you're right, but I think this is going to get more traction than you think. This wasn't the normal gang or robbery violence and the dude was walking with 31 mags and a spare upper receiver. Expect this to get trumpeted loudly, the only thing missing is the school filled with dead kids. Not for lack of the shooters effort...

Shooting in Santa Monica CA involving an AR-15 yesterday (Jun 7th). Guess a tactical'd out, black-clad guy with the AR shot two people in a house, lit it on fire, then went on a spree afterwards. Killed at least two or three others, then cops killed him at the Santa Monica College campus. Blowback will be interesting. CA has all assault rifle owners register, plus Frankenfeinstein lead the charge on the AWB. Could affect prices again.
  17. Meh. I feel like you see more of her, and she looks better, in 'she's out of my league'.
  18. Don't read this unless you've seen the new Star Trek movie. If you have...laugh away.
  19. I flew with old head coots in the -17 and they sure as shit didn't want FEs. NOBODY wanted FEs.
  20. Don't know how the AF ATC does things, but anything on an assigned air traffic frequency is recorded in the FAA.
  21. Wow that looks really good. Funny seeing all the pieces of sci-fi the Halo series used as inspiration, and clearly Ender's Game was one of them.
  22. Benefit to the C-17, all the tiedown hooks on the floor are rated to 25k. Oh, and the pallet locks are strong, probably a lot stronger than anything in a 747. Speaking of, is the 463L pallet anywhere close to the same dimensions as a regular commercial 747 pallet? 463L measures 108"x88"... It's funny, really your biggest limitation in how many vehicles your plane could carry wasn't so much how to space them in, it's how to get them in and have room between the vehicles to get the proper restraint. Yeah, you can go under a vehicle with the chains provided no more than 50% of the restraint goes to the axles and provided it sits high enough for you to get in there to do what you need, oh and that you have the time to do all this and not have your balls busted about takeoff times...but to have all that go hand in hand is rare. So you end up with wasted space between vehicles where all the chains go. Anyway to me, snap judgment from the 747 payload pics, it just looks like somebody thought more of 'how many of these can we cram in?' than 'hey, how good is our restraint here?'
  23. Cargo straps for MRAPs...UFB. I never used anything less than 25K chains and devices.
  24. Just don't violate airspace while dicking with your iPad or whatever, and then when you get served with the deviation don't blame it on your iPad's GPS. Always love that one.
