  1. I literally just posted a link talking about a randomized trial that proves masks reduce the spread.
  2. I can't imagine why they wouldn't want him in command.
  3. But the vaccines DO reduce transmission. It's the same fallacy as the mask. Vaccines reduce the transmission rate, but they don't reduce it to zero. And there are plenty of at-risk folks who can't get vaccinated due to other factors. Seems kinda callous to say "eh, I won't inconvenience myself by wearing a mask indoors, those people will just die off". I mean...I don't support the idea of wearing a mask full time, all the time, everywhere. But the idea of throwing one on before going into a grocery store doesn't really bother me.
  4. Well, if you insist on increasing your odds of getting it...I wouldn't be surprised when you get it. The vaccine reduces your odds of getting it...it doesn't guarantee you'll never get it. Also, for the crowd...turns out the masks do work, assuming you can get people to actually wear them. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/09/masks-were-working-all-along/619989/
  5. Hope you weren't planning on an airline job. https://wgntv.com/news/coronavirus/united-airlines-says-99-of-workers-vaccinated-nearly-600-will-be-fired/
  6. I think just because someone types all the same conspiracy theories they've been touting on Twitter into a lengthy word document, that doesn't make it true. There are a lot of assertions that are just blatantly false, and the whole "mind-control" aspect is flat-earther level nonsense that diminishes ant credibility the rest of the document might have had.
  7. "Speaking the truth"...like when he actively calls for a new revolutionary war in America? I was kinda with him in the first video, but his subsequent releases have really gone off the deep end. And clearly his decision-making is impaired if he's incapable of seeing that he's doing more harm than good to his cause.
  8. Is your son still in AFROTC? HQ just pushed the waiver authority for a third test to Det/CCs. That said, he probably needs to show how he's studied. The general rule is taking a class related to the area he failed.
  9. I'm not for mandates nationwide, where government agents go door to door with dart guns vaccinating every American. I do support vaccine mandates in fields where it makes sense - military, health care, airline travel, school teachers...probably a couple I'm missing. I'd prefer if the person making my food at the local Applebee's were vaccinated, but mandating it for every restaurant employee seems like a stretch. But I absolutely support corporations' right to make vaccines a condition for employment.
  10. He didn't leave from the US. Boy, have you swallowed the big government lines. Again...I'm way more mad that a government that claims to represent its citizens has seized so much power over such a small amount of risk than I am that someone exposed that government's actions. I am not at all convinced that this system makes us safer. At all. Didn't catch the Las Vegas shooter. Didn't stop the Boston Marathon bombing. Near as I can tell, it's a bunch of security theater. And to inch us back to the topic...you don't think the government will turn those same tools on people who oppose vaccine mandates (for example)? It baffles me that you support the idea of an all-seeing eye for government while railing against things like militias and Trump supporters getting labeled as terrorists. Where do you think the government is going to turn those tools next?
  11. Snowden didn't intend to stay in Russia. He was enroute to Ecuador. The US government revoked his passport before he landed in Russia, stranding him there. I'm not saying he did the right thing, but I have a lot more anger at a system that enables the government to listen to every phone call, read every text, and monitor every credit card transaction than I do at the guy who told us about the system.
  12. I didn't vote for this administration.
  13. There's that transparency and accountability we were promised...
  14. I agreed with some of the points in his first video...but he seems to be steaming full-speed into Crazytown with each new post.
  15. The guy's mental state is clearly deteriorating...I just hope it doesn't end in a suicide. Or a murder/suicide.
  16. Scheller's meltdown continues...he's now trying to find a JAG to help him charge general officers under the UCMJ. He does know that a Lt Col does not have that kind of authority...right? https://imgur.com/a/gw9JQ7i
  17. Modern formulations sold on shelves were not produced in the 60s. Those formulas have been tweaked and tinkered with, including the use of the HEK-293 cell line. Pepsi also made use of this cell line. BTW, if you got the MMR vaccine... the rubella vaccine was developed using cells from a human embryo aborted in the 1960s - a different cell line than HEK-293.
  18. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VuouMqMkDrg57QEHd94nqYLGck8wFKdH/view?fbclid=IwAR1Vm7FonfF500oXe0zLZfnz8bHLB2JAwhlfLmcnDd9eqHBar0v-HOMgPtQ USAF guidance on Covid vaccines. Couple of things stuck out: 1. Your 16+ years of service may not be enough to keep you in until retirement if you refuse the vaccines 2. An established separation or retirement date doesn't exempt you from needing the vaccine 3. There will be no involuntary separation pay if you are separated for refusing the vaccine 4. Refusing the vaccine doesn't automatically get you out of your ADSC 5. If you took the bonus or are still on the hook for TA or other educational benefits, and you get kicked out, the Air Force will likely come after you for the "unearned" portion of the bonus and/or recoup the cost of the educational benefits. 6. The memo does not definitively state the characterization of a discharge for vaccine refusal, leaving that to individual commanders. Edit: related, from a terrible screen grab: You CAN be ordered to take the Pfizer vaccine. No holding out for a label change to Comirnaty.
  19. Chang was annoying, but at least he was coherent.
  20. Thanks, I appreciate your faith in my leadership abilities.
  21. Prohibiting after-tax contributions in workplace plans... so no more Roth TSP?
  22. I'm hoping they get out. I've got a batch of solid cadets...cutting some officers who can't do basic statistics makes room for cadets who are motivated, vaccinated, and desperately want to be Air Force Lts.
  23. No, just a dirty nav. Everyone knows that navs are only navy because we're too retarded to be pilots.
  24. So Bashi's public health advice is just spit into each other's mouths until everyone gets covid, everyone who dies is an acceptable loss? Pretty arrogant. But maybe it's that single-seat mentality. Fuck anyone who isn't you...you got yours, your own risk, everyone else just shouldn't be old and fat, it's their own fault. Brilliant.
  25. https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/12/health/us-coronavirus-sunday/index.html Or maybe it's exactly human intervention that's preventing some states from being overwhelmed. Nah...I'm sure it's seasonal. 600k people killed each year is a small price to pay for you to puff out your chest about "much freedoms".
