Also hearing guys going through PCO, Phase I at Little Rock are being sent home due to more important Phase 3 guys. One of our guys got sent home a couple of weeks ago for this very thing! I guess it's back to upgrading in-house! -

Just before going to UPT, I had a job loading 747's in Hartford, CT. That very October, one of them from the same company crashed in Halifax, while I was at Columbus. Come to find out, not only did I know the crew, but also found out that the pilot rotated early due to his V-Speeds being wrong because the weight and balance was calculated incorrectly. The subject of pallets has come up with the 747's in this thread. The 747 CAN take the 463L pallet (being a former aerial porter myself), but normally takes what is called PMC pallets. They are thinner and lighter and quite frankly, are crap. They are nicknamed "cookie sheets" and for good reason. Those MRAPS should have been tied down with 25K chains and devices, no excuses.

I feel like I just read an excerpt from one of my SOS Correspondence readings!! Either way, well said. The leadership at my Guard base is forcing us to use PT gear for all PT tests starting in October. This should probably go in the "WTF?" thread. For all the other Guard guys, is this coming your way?

I know what he's talking about. When I went to Airline Transport Professionals in Trenton, the DPE kinda busted my CFI's balls for not endorsing my logbook to reflect legitimate training had transpired. It's the paper trail, that's all, and a CYA issue. Now thinking about it, I didn't actually present my logbook, but an Excel spreadsheet showing ALL of my flighttime from the last 10 years (civilian and military, as well as my AFORMS rip), and I'm surprised the interviewers at Jetblue didn't ask me about it.

Correct with CTANG(103rd)...they are getting some of Niagara's birds because they are deactivating the ANG squadron at Niagara and thus reducing the PAA. I heard that the 135th at MDANG is turning into a Cyber Command unit.

That is correct. They are shutting down the Guard squadron at Niagara Falls, and due to the drop in PAA because of that closure, the -130's will be transferred to Bradley. I heard this directly from the NGB/A8 (I believe that's the code) guy, a full bird who was visiting us down in McMurdo this season.
