  1. ...and a 2.7% pay increase for FY22. And that's how you do a paycut, yee yee! ..and retired critters getting that 5.9% in the same time period.
  2. Nah, it's got d.ck to do with age. Privately they don't believe in any of this sh!t either. They know all it takes to meet stated FY production goals is to re-open and staff a single additional former UPT base, and we're doneski here. But they also know that's not in the cards for the SECAF. So as conniving but ultimately rational actors, they play dumb regurgitating that "psychology of learning" disingenuous sophistry at the expense of the perennially revolving door of "f-- ck it I'm going to the airlines" burnt out rank and file instructor cadre, who they consider expendable and uncommitted for holding said sentiments in the first place. All the while retaining access for their post-retirement NoVA consultant six fig grift. Nothing new under the sun. The problem with the GO in question is he exhibits a penchant for grudge holding and narcissism above and beyond that of the average GO. The enterprise is certainly worse off for it. But this too shall pass. Yes, some kids are getting burned as casualties of the experiment. But everybody who signed on the dotted line knew they were in for a f$cking at some point or another. Not condoning it, just reiterating the 3 axioms of military life.
  3. yup yup. Should make for plenty o' TMAAT story fodder for that mAinLiNe interview lol.
  4. cartel front, def a cartel front.... /s (maybe)
  5. The article lists the accident aircraft as a PA-28R-300. That is a niche low-volume one-off export-licensed military trainer called the Pillรกn. (PA-32 fuselage based, tandem seating trainer, much in the same way as the T-34 was based on the BE-33/35 Bonanza airframe). So likely a typo. They probably meant PA-32R-300, aka Piper Lance. Retract version of the cherokee Six. Condolences to the family.
  6. yeah buddy. It's a shame single pilot jobs don't pay squat. "I rather have the extra gas" *slam click* ๐Ÿ˜„
  7. Indeed, and frankly it's not a particularly complicated case to make, in spite of how quickly people dismiss it just because it bends too "cynical" for their purity-test-centering sensitivities to grapple with. I won't repeat myself on that account, for the sake of brevity.
  8. Update on the the Scheller self-immolation. His allocutions pretty much cover the fly-bys.
  9. Well, if they don't get a handle on their rollin' coal membership online, they're gonna get 2017 Spirit'd right between the uprights faster than they can spell RLA. The self-immolating over on APC is priceless. So far SWAPA has had to publicly deny their inference more times than Peter denied Jesรบs, and it's only Monday. Best laid schemes of mice and men.... ๐Ÿคฃ
  10. Fwiw, AFRC AvB is paid out on anniversary dates (arrears). Cant speak for the active duty, though i can say fiscal 21 offering on active duty was laughable, especially compared to the terms on the AFRC side.
  11. Its not so much about the money from where i see it. The point of a rehire as an airline newb isnt on the pay offset on the military side; it's in the value of cajoling your junior airline schedule via mildrop, something a full stop mil retiree no longer has available. Anecdotally at least on my corner of AFRC, the process to onboard a retire-rehire applicant was running in excess of 18 months. For most doing it for the mil drop cape, that timeline makes it a moot point as long as their airline is hiring people below them. For folks stuck during a period of stopped musical chairs at the airline, it might be worth the wait i suppose. Most of the guys in the position of getting an active retirement in my squadron are just moving on at 20, citing the pita of current timeline and requirements to onboard thru the program as not really worth it to them, plus they all have 5 year seniority numbers anyways so the schedule flexing at the airline isnt an issue anymore. Cant speak for how much of a dumspter fire your unit of interest may or may not be wrt CSS backshop and their batting avg wrt hiring qweep.
  12. Warden ain't getting ya parole on piddly 1mil smooth. This guy reminds me of Fresh Fish from Shawshank, fancying himself special.... We know buddy, we know... ๐Ÿ˜„
  13. Most underrated comment so far. You've said a mouthful my friend. I think they're still taking out the Social security freeze from my LES from the last bait and switch during POTUS 45. You know it's a f**kjob when the govt forbids you from NOT taking the extra cash. LOL
  14. yeah don't get me started on our healthcare system (red button topic in my household). To wit, the inability to retain capacity surplus in this Country due to that abhorrent just-in-time supply model applied to for-profit healthcare delivery, is one of our epic national embarrassments (military adventurism is the other one, but I digress on that). My RN wife has healthcare friends all over the region and out of state, and the anecdotes on the group chat are appalling. Even in our current location, the transfers gridlock kerfuffle is absolutely in your face, and it really underscores the second tier effects to non-covid admittances. But it comes down to the profit motivations. We can't scale surplus capacity to save our lives. Automotive supply chain economics applied to healthcare is not a bug, it's a feature as you point out. That's how you end up with layoffs in the non-covid floors, and an Afghan Defense Force amateur level of inability to address a shortage in staffing/ICU/ECMO capacity. May the odds be forever in our favor. And as to those who believe in the canard that we're NOT having people die in America in triage, wake the f up. We've been doing that for a while. And people still talk about govt death panels like it's some sort of libertarian p@wn? LOL yeak ok, 6 of mine, your half a dozen.....
  15. Post TFI, yes. A lot more common than it should be, but nobody is putting that genie back in the bottle. That ship sailed in 2010. Non TFI Guard units are probably the last remaining bastion of discretion on that front, and those days are numbered too, imo.
  16. My sincere apologies, I wasn't trying to convey personal emotional investment, I'm just emphatic for effect when i talk/type. Sorry about the misunderstanding.
  17. Fair enough. I stand corrected on the semantics of "as soon as practical". I am aware the IFG matrix is not a T.O. Either way, an emergency declaration is not a requirement for a single gen good cross was my point. Your 6 of one, my half a dozen.
  18. Tower control means d$ck all, though in general towers tend to be proxies for ARFF services (part 139 certifications is a better proxy). KLAW is an ARFF index B facility during air carrier ops (aka operating hours), and it is 7 minutes away by T-38. That's just not in dispute. The argument could be made that the risk of a botched landing attempt of an otherwise non-emergency aircraft (I'm sorry if you all disagree, but that is the T.O. categorization of a single gen good cross in the T-38, unless a compound EP/failure presents itself), in a field without crash services, where one was available 7 minutes away, is not justifiable and demonstrates a pattern of improper decision making in the eyes of the guy who owns the iron. That's it man. You don't agree? Cool. Feel free to win the hearts and minds when they make you OG. This isn't an abstraction for me in the least. I work in the same community and know who I'm beholden to when I decide that a quick-tempered Leroy Jenkins is warranted, and shine my #ss out there in the NAS with a tail I don't have personal OPCON over. I further decide I don't like that construct? I can always sit on my hands, turn in my wings and eat the paddle I got coming to my *ss like a full-retard-Scheller. There are hills to die on in this life.... but not everything is one. To each their own. But you tell me. You're the one who started a thread asking about what could warrant a Q3, but don't provide any truth data required to inform the position you're arguing against in the first place. That reads to me like you know the answer you want, but have heartburn with any position that doesn't feed that confirmation bias. Corroborate that any compounding factor to that simpleton non-emergency is at play here, and you'll have my 100% vote on that Q3 being bullsh$t. Until then, we're just throwing hypotheticals here, and my guess is as good as yours.
  19. Trivializing a Bent Spear as a 'haircut LOR' just because it happens in the midst of a "cEnTcOm priorities" kerfuffle is a weird flex, but OK.... For context, those of us who got stuck sucking the SAC-redux d!ck for a while don't view everything from the binary "centcom or you're a nonner". I didn't join the Army, I got no identity crisis. #PACAFLivesMatters #hafadai #NoTaxFree #FlagPole #PRP ๐Ÿ˜„
  20. Absolutely. It's the way I handled an 8 year stint at my last duty station. Super easy transition during the eventual PCS; a twofer since I'll never landlord as a matter of personal preference and life priorities. Of course, I also rented cheap with a young family and put that whole spread into other aspects of my life (to include a mammoth war chest that might just be enough to not have to even dabble in the airline d!ck dance after .mil retirement). In fairness, a scheme most of these haughty m'fers I call my vocational peers generally consider beneath them, but that's neither here nor there. LOL ๐Ÿ˜„ Cheers!
  21. holy checkers move batman. I tell ya where he went wrong is he probably retained PYB's wife as counsel. Actually that's not true, cuz at least PYB retained his earned benefits! ๐Ÿ˜„ To each their own. ETA: Almost forgot. The irony of posting that manifesto in front of a Chess board does not escape me in the least. yee yee!
  22. LOL indeed. I was watching a ze german YT video of a guy in a D- registered RV-8 flying across the atlantic to attend OSH with his German flag proudly on the tail...and an ALLIED invasion paint scheme. I had to do a double take. Indeed, I made a comment linking to a google search of irony, which wasn't received well. ๐Ÿ˜„
