The Foglesong Thread
OK. I've got a new euphamism for taking a dump after seeing his dildo award viedo. "Crew I'll be off headset for the next 10 minutes . . . . I've got to go in the back and drop a Mingo 1"

Viewing Big 10 football in the south
At Salem and The Deid you could get AFN channels in your room, and they carried a handful of games each week. Probably only 2 or 3 live, but you could catch some more during the week. Also the Rec Center (which I am sure now has some awesome name like TREC-AF) had big screens that would show the good games. I saw Texas beat Southern Cal on a movie screen at 4 in the morning in Salem - it was sweet. But if you are looking to catch Indiana at Northwestern you may be SOL though.

How does anyone have that much free time? This video confirms my long standing theory that any video is made better by making "Sonne" it's soundtrack.

Tweet Retirement
Columbus has tail # 95-3003. It has to be at least 11 years old I would think. 3500-ish hours on it. When I was at the factory a couple month ago an '08 tail was next off the line, so I'm kind of assuming a 1-2 year lead for the T-6 fleet. And 11 years flying the Tweet is nothing. There are Reservists who have been here for 15 years. Pretty sure more than one retired with over 3,000 hrs in the T-37 . . . . 1.3 at a time.

Tweet Retirement
Not to sidebar too much, but we have 11 year old T-6s at Columbus, which fly the same as the ones fresh from the factory. Doubt we'll beflying them in 40 years, but they sure as shit will be in service well into the future.

Pope wing commander removed from duty
The 2 AS /CC at the time was Lt Col Brown - pretty sure that's not who you are refering to. Perhaps you are thinking of his successor (not such a cool guy). Don't know if Fun Burglar had anything to do with the all female Herc crew, but it wouldn't surprise me. He was notorious for only jumping on with crews that had a chick front-ender.

Pope wing commander removed from duty
Temporarily, my faith in AMC is restored. Here is a gem though: I spent 1/2 a deployment working tactics when he was the OG/CC. At 1730 every day he would come in to the 737 Ops building and "remind" everyone to put on their reflective belts. We were working 8 hours shifts in a building with no windows. The furthest we would ever get from the building was 100 feet away to get some grub at the roach coach. But like clockwork every day he would come around to remind us to wear our reflective belts INDOORS. His reasoning was that if we didn't put them on right then "we might forget" when we went outside. What a shithead . . . .

Pope wing commander removed from duty
God I hope so. If you check out his bio you'll se an interesting coorelation to Doc. He comes from 130s, but despite the fact he's served during 4 wars and a half-dozen other major contingencies, he has but one Aeriel Achievement Medal to show for it.

Terminator Salvation
No can do. These days I get to see maybe 3 or 4 movies a year in the theatre , and I've been waiting 20 years for this movie (I always thought the sequels should have been set in the future, not the present). Plus I stick by my assertion that Christian Bale doesn't take bed roles.

Real SpecOps fighter pilots, like me, would never let you get away with that. You can never tell anyone in public that you are SpecOps fighter pilot - only on your youtube page.

JSTARS vs. Slick
Once Tatoo and zee Boss clear you off Fantasy Island, you'll be back on the flight deck of a C-130 putting lat/longs in SCNS, computing CARPs, and calling "Green Light!" All of which is cool.

C-12 vs T-44 at Corpus
Doing the contact training at Orange Grove vs. Cabaniss always seemd like a good deal to me. It's been a while now, but I remember that the one day we had to stay local for our contact work (wx must have socked in the south) the "MOA" they use off the coast and the 3 transition fields were super crowded w/ tower calling every base turn, multiple go-arounds for proximity, etc. whereas in the C-12 we would have the area all to ourselves, then head down to Orange Grove and be one of 2 or 3 in the pattern. It went quicker and I felt like i learned more. Honestly though, above all I'd reccomend going in on a house on the island w/ a couple dudes and just make sure you are in the same squadron as them. Even a better deal if they are a class ahead of you!
