  1. Yeah, I did a double take when I heard JFK mention Airbus. The transcript from Fox News says: ". . . .I don't want American workers subsidizing the loss of their own job. And when I'm president, we're going to shut that loophole in a nanosecond and we're going to use that money to lower corporate tax rates in America for all corporations, 5 percent. And we're going to have a manufacturing jobs credit and a job hiring credit so we actually help people be able to hire here. The second thing that we can do is provide a fair trade playing field. This president didn't stand up for Boeing when Airbus was violating international rules and subsidies. He discovered Boeing during the course of this campaign after I'd been talking about it for months."
  2. A friend of mine who went to Vance told me this one about a Tweet solo on his first trip into the MOA, who aparently had busted through the bottom of his block without knowing it: RAPCON: "Sire XX, confirm altitude" Sire XX: "Roger, altitude confirmed"
  3. If you go to snopes.com and read this Kerry Pizza it sheds some light on the rumor. The bottom line is that Kerry is widely know to be an asshole, and behavior like this would be par for the course. Snopes is a great place to check on the validity of any email trash you get.

Aside from his decision to be John Wayne and run to the chopper with his M9 drawn (and according to his interview on the History Channel he was holding it by the barrel), I don't recall much criticizm of his survival tactics. He was on the ground for 6(?) days with people constantly looking for him, yet was able to get in touch with friendlies and eventually got his butt out of enemy territory. I know nothing about his flying ability (other than people constantly telling me that only the best pilots can get to an AD Viper unit), but it seems like he was compitent enough to escape a situation that would have left a lot of guys behing bars. I do agree though that he played up his 15 minutes more than anyone in the military should. The F-117 driver (Vega XX) shot down over Serbia had the same opportunity, yet who's heard of his name? If you want to be famous, become an astronaut, otherwise you're in the wrong profession, IMHO.
  6. Don't forget your 6 T's: Time, Turn, Throttles, Twist, Track, Talk (used any time you pass a IAF, FAF, or any other point you want) Anyone remember the version the Navy taught? Something like time, turn, time, tune . . . except 1/2 the time you didn't use part of it.
  7. LMAO! A Herc moves a bit better than a 747 my man.

If you haven't gotten the picture yet . . . . The AF takes them out whenever they damn well please. If they ever seem like they will be a problem in the future the "doctor" will yank them out. I suppose that's to ensure you don't get some funky mouth infection or whatever when you are deployed. And oh by the way there is a special board on baseops.net just for medical questions like this. Curiously enough, it is entitled "Avation Medecine"
