Music As Torture
Swing & a miss. Do you have any clue what kind of people are in Federal Supermax prisons? Guys like the Unabomber, Richard Reid, & Terry Nichols aren't likely to waste time disciplining suspected terrorists.

I'm sure if the Air Force had a super-double-secret black program that they would fly it over costal North Carolina with lights on.- Pirate Boomtown - thoughts?
Maybe not, but that doesn't stop them from trying. Rainbow Warrior!- T-6 Cockpit Trainer
Um, so will the MWS guys.- Fighter Pilot Poser...pt Iii
I had no idea it was even possible to be that stupid.- C-17 Globemaster vs C-130 Hercules
In my opinion, there is a war going on, and people with this attitude should fucking choke themselves.- CLASSIC: De Motivational Poster Contest!
- Absurdly gay ANG comercial
Seriously? How about :14 when the black guy turns around and gives the shoulder dip+sashay+ace ventura smile? Laura Bryna (who the deuce is that) as the spokeswoman? Last time I saw hair like that I was intently finding out who shot JR. And that song? WTFO? Sounds like something out of Team America.- Absurdly gay ANG comercial
Anyone else catch this cheese-fest on ESPN recently? WTF?- Defensive Egg - Classic Thread
I've been thinking for some time that Baseops needs a greatest hits thread. You know like one of those stickies at the top that you can't post on. This thread, CapSoftSandy, WxMan's phone taps, that fruit who told everyone he was asexual - man there has been some good shit on here over the years.- The Foglesong Thread

Pretty awesome that in most of those shots the camera is looking down at the jet. But seriously . . . . Dido?- The Officers Club
Another O'club scam, and another reason no one wants to be a club member anymore. I signed up for one one night because the Club was "Member's Only" that night. So I signed up at the door, got in, and cancelled the card as soon as I got it on the mail. Think I still used the card for like a year though. I think it's a way crappy card too - like 15% interest or something gay.- C-130 Hercules questions
The entire crew? . . . Nope - everyone is too think skinned!- C-130 Hercules questions
Uh, no. If you think that a debrief conducted at the Ops Desk filling out a 781 where the AC looks at you and says "you got anything for me?", to which you reply "Nope.", and to which he replies "OK good job stay in the books." (standar 130 debrief) requires thick skin . . . . you need to sit in on a real debrief. One of my biggest problems with the -130 community as a whole was that there never was a debrief, and everyone had super thin skin. If you called someone out for sucking in flight or screwing up the mission plan all the sudden you're some hard charging asshole. And if you called out one of the E's God forbid, every Eng and/or Load thought you were some prick wanabe fighter guy. And know that wasn't just my experience. Many a night in Salem was spent bitching about it, but no one ever thought it needed to change. Mediocrity was way to prevalant in the Herc community (at least in AMC the 4 years I was there) and no one gave a shit and that's not right. But what the hell do I know?- 71 FS LPA Aim-120 Ransom Note
- Bad news for Pope Herk crew dogs
No, it was the OG Chief of Stan/Eval who said it. The Fun Burglar was at Pope for over a year by the time I had left and he had completed exactly one flight on Indoc. He commanded the busiest C-130 Ops Group in the world while holding the qualification of UN, and less hours than most INs. That man is more out of touch with the line Herc drivers/navs/loadies/FEs than any "leader" I encountered in the 130 community Ladies and gentlemen - be afraid. This is a Doc in the making. I shit you negative Only good thing is that he's not a fighter guy so there's not much chance of him getting 4 stars.- Two pilots dead in T-38C crash at Columbus AFB
If you are at Columbus or otherwise in the know, do not post here or PM anybody with any details. Let PA do it's job and wait for the press release.- Cross Country info
I'm in a T-6 now, so fuel/parking is never an issue. The only reason we are going is to watch the Cards this weekend. No I mean it's to log CT instrument beans - that's what I meant to say. Anyway my experience at Scott was great, but sounds like that was just due to the red carpet being rolled out for the airshow (plus I wan in a Herc, not a T-6), so I'm planning on sticking w/ the FBO. The making money vs. spending it argument seems pretty water tight to me.- Cross Country info
Anyone here been to Scott AFB and have a reccomendation of using the Mid-America FBO vs Scott Base Ops? I'm going there this weekend, but can't find any gouge on one side being better than the other. I dealt with Scott once in Hercs and found them pretty damn helpfull - although that was for an airshow so maybe that was the only reason they had their sh*t together.- CB Tweets Complete
- Herks: impressions of MPD
Aw man - I good a good chuckle out of that one. In 3 & 1/2 years at Pope I was on a grand total of 3 off-station missions (obviously not including deployments - all of which I deployed via commercial air/rotator). INDOC copilots were waived their off station requirement 3/4 of the time. Every onece in a while they would get on an out & back to the NCO Academy Graduation or took the Wing/CC to Scott or Little Rock. When we had extra jets (basically never) we could send someone to the BAC or to Hurlburt for a JA/ATT. Absoultely none of that is challenging. The iron swaps are somewhat - but they would usually send out a baby AC and mid- or high-time CP on those. I remember more than once sending 2 CPs on an out & back so they could both log off an off-station mission for INDOC. They did that way before the MPD program. Then they knocked it off. For a reason I don't think the MPD makes sense foer the Herc community as long as they keep everyone tac qualified. I think AMC should drop the 100% formation/tac qual thing since they never use it anyway. You can cruicify me for saying this if you want, but why not adopt the C-17 training flow where no one shows up with a tac qual, and if you don't want it, you don't get it? Then MPD makes sense to me. Otherwise I agree that all it does if pawn off the schoolhouse's problems on to the squadrons who have better things to do with their time/people/money.- Information on PIT (Pilot Instructor Training)
The guy I am thinking about was an A-10 and ALO guy. rumor was that he was such a raging asshole the A-10 community ostrisized him and he "wound up" in PIT. If you ever flew with him that's not hard to imagine.- Information on PIT (Pilot Instructor Training)
Don't know the circumstances, but when I was there last summer I flew with an IP that had zero UPT time. So yes, it is possible. - something I couldnt explain
