  1. Ugh. O-6 lobotomy and police officer "i am the law" complex combined? YGBSM
  2. Foul #1 Foul #2 Dayman is right. You got off easy.
  3. He would get it under the proposed flex retirement plan where you are vested (granted only 25% of base pay, but better than nothing) to collect retirement at the 10 yr point. While the all or nothing retirement plan of today is quite nice if you make it 20 yrs, it screws a lot of guys over, who served 15+ yrs and didn't go the distance to 20.
  4. Here or hear? You must be a gunner!
  5. The couple times I've been above 280, I have. I guess the controllers need to know so they can still provide 2,000 feet separation for you since you're an outsider! Also, according to the FAR/AIM (2008) you should attach "non rvsm" to the items below. (page 152, table 4-6-1) Pilot will report Non-RVSM status as follows: a. On the initial call on any frequency in the RVSM airspace and.... b. In all requests for flight level changes pertaining to flight levels within the RVSM airspace and c. In all read backs to flight level clearances pertaining to flight levels within the RVSM airspace and d. In read back of flight level clearances involving climb and descent through RVSM airspace (FL 290-410)
  6. I would not trade the experience of my father swearing me in as an officer, for any CINC.....much less this one.
  7. What's the 217???? I just do half my altitude, added to my KIAS for true. Works marvelously. 300KIAS + 120 (FL 240) = 420KTAS. TLAR Pilot Math is where it's at!
  8. That's a monopoly!!! Customers don't have a choice in the matter and are driven to one competitor! I guess they got the idea from all the places on the ground in Europe that charge to use the pisser.
  9. Keep in mind, the requirements for those with a PPL or higher, to get a glider rating are significantly less. I've only been up a couple times but I'm definitely going to get the add-on in the next couple years. http://www.ssa.org/sport/gliderpilot.asp
  10. He knew. Look at his body language. Pursed lips and a quick disapproving head shake, followed by nervous looking around with a fake smile. By Obama reacting the way he did, he just draws more attention to the joke. At least Bush was a light-hearted everyday Joe that could dodge a shoe to the face and still smile afterwards. If Obama doesn't lighten up, this is going to be a long 4 years.
  11. So how long before Biden gets the boot? I thought it was pretty funny but I've never claimed to be tactful.
  12. Excellent video! The check pilot alien's expressions were spot on!

    USAA

Just got a quote for $300 less per 6 months, using Geico instead of USAA to insure my two vehicles. I've been with USAA for 10 years and my family has been with them for almost 30 years, and I haven't had an issues with them, but $600 more per year for insurance is a lot for good service. Any Geico customers out there have any reviews? Price looks good but do they handle claims timely and with ease and how's their customer service? The 15% military discount is nice and it appears the have a military division as well.
  14. Good luck $#@@#$#! I hope it works out for you! What State are you running for?
  15. Ya but you'd make a lot more money flying executives around in the commercial V-22. They won't have much experience to choose from when they're looking for guys to fly this thing if it gets certified in 2011. BACC has already received 80 orders for it! At least this one is pressurized! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell/Agusta_BA609
  16. Hacker, didn't you run a UPT blog back in the day? Isn't that how you got your name?
  17. Reminds me of the Dozer OPSEC scandal. Are you Chinese by chance BDA?
  18. A zoomie friend of mine sent me this. I guess times is tough out there!
  19. http://www.imeem.com/people/2u8QyMe/video/...po_kid_tv_vide/ Just try pulling monkey bars down the street while you run, like Mike Meyers the hyper hypo!
  20. “There is some near-term (FY-10-14) risk taken by this move,” the document states, summing up the earlier-than-expected retirements of the F-15s, F-16s and A-10s." Exactly. What better time for our serious opposition to attack.
  21. If you're talking about the hour break downs for PCSM, 101 would be the magic number in your example. 101-200 is second highest flight hour bracket, next to >201 hrs.
