  1. As others have pointed out, the only real reason I know I'm supersonic is because there's a number in my HUD that tells me so. Sometimes I look at it to ensure I'm complying with airspace regs, but usually not even then... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  2. Pretty sure you can do whatever you want, just don't start too many fires. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  3. My squadron trains in phases, I think most do. So we might be in a BFM phase for a couple weeks, then a CAS phase for a few weeks, then SEAD... In my limited experience, we use all our gas for training. There might be opportunities to do some fun stuff along the way but it's usually all business. That being said, a lot of the stuff we do is pretty freaking cool. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  4. di1630s post is pretty spot on. If you don't really want to be there, the workload will probably make you miserable, especially as a new guy in the fighter world that probably performed well in his/her previous airframe, and now is getting his/her nuts crushed learning the new mission. Flying the jet, at least the Viper, is relatively simple and ing awesome. Managing formations, weapons, sensors, timelines, etc. can be very task saturating depending on the mission and mostly a function of your ability to multi task, prioritize, and your brains ability to operate under pressure and faster than you could ever imagine. I agree that anyone who ever wanted to fly fighters should give it a shot. I also agree that just about anyone with a good attitude and willingness to work their butt off will fit in just fine. The last thing I would say is that this job is ing dangerous. Just flying formation and trying to employ tactically can turn bad very quick if you don't prioritize your task. And keep in mind, our job is to kill shit, while other shit is trying to kill us. You gotta be cool with that. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  5. Don't listen to any of this nonsense, go spend that money on booze/strippers/fast cars. You'll be too old to have any fun with all that money once you retire... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  6. Well I just ig found out I can't say just or it doesn't post ing anything and, ing apparently, I can't edit my own ing posts ... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

  8. If you have a desirable package, you should consider applying to F-15 units, you might have more luck. Trying sending them an email with pictures of said package. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  9. ^^^ Saw that once, think the dude strategically performed horribly in IFF and washed out, magically going back to heavies. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  10. I gotta start using this one more often, should definitely go over well in the debrief... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  11. It's just weird dude. You have a patch, a pilot training patch at that, a helmet (sts), and an AWACS on your nametag with no aircraft in the background. It definitely throws up a red flag, so don't be upset that people called you out on it. It's just ing weird. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  12. Pretty sure he Googled his name and found this thread... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  13. Sparkdiggety is Adam... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  14. Holy Shit! Guess it's time to rewrite the books. Has anyone told Congress about this? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  15. You lost me when you said "Hog" and "BFM" in the same sentence... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  16. Keep in mind, being away from her isn't going to stop after UPT. How will deployments/tdys work? You'll probably stay busy/gone after you get wings so you need to take that into consideration. Like others have said, this job is great but I wouldn't put it before my family. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  17. I have no idea but, if it were me, i would go get current and not leave it up to chance. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  18. I got hired at 28. If you're already hired, there shouldn't be any reason for you to be concerned about age anymore. Your unit isn't going to lose one of their UPT slots because they screwed up and didn't get a guy they hired into training on time. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  19. I have no idea what the problem is. You've been offered both a fighter slot and a heavy slot. You want the fighter slot. Take it. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  20. Deleted my post to clean up thread, should be something learned here, not this bullshit. The content is in the quoted posts. ing ridiculous.
  21. ^^^ Not sure I'm following. You're saying there's no reason for a fighter to be that low only 15-20nm away from the runway? I'd say getting vectored to intercept the approach course at 15nm would be completely normal (maybe just a tad longer than normal). Not sure where you're getting the altitude they were at from.
  22. Go join a guard unit, go to college without ROTC, apply to get hired in the Guard. If it doesn't work out, enjoy your paid for college and your mostly civilian life, where you get to do whatever you want whenever you want. Maybe not statistically your best chance of getting a pilot slot. Probably statistically your best chance of enjoying your life. Just kidding. But seriously...
  23. Fired cuz they had a playboy model in the cockpit and didn't have enough game to make this more interesting??? They're a disgrace to pilots everywhere.
  24. Hopefully they like Tucson then cuz that shit ain't happening.
  25. If only there was a thread where we could talk about drones...
