The geniuses in the police department decided the proper way to handle this was to shine spotlights at him and surround the scene with several cars with lights and sirens going while the cloud of news helicopters hovered nearby so they could get a better view. Abolishing Blues Monday wouldn't interfere with his busy schedule. Typing and sending that email would take all of 20 seconds. Symbols matter.
