Red River Landing
Always glad when someone comes out the other side unharmed. Well done.

I'd recommend contacting the apartment management and asking them to send you a copy of the reciept.

Torture! (Here we go)
Am I the only one who thinks we shouldn't have done this, but that the much bigger foul is talking about it? Anyone could get out of hand while "questioning" a Talibanimal, but poor OPSEC is inexcusable.

Sending RPA pilots to UPT?
Guard RPA should consider it, assuming the funds are available. If their mission changes back to manned, what do you do with a squadron full of 18Xers? It's an unlikely contingency, but worth considering.

Or have a certain percentage of the promotion billets reserved for certain AFSCs and the remainder left for an "at large" category. That way the Air Force can address manning deficiencies in certain AFSCs while still leaving room to promote top performers.- Eliminating AF Waste (Fraud/Abuse too)

I don't think the idea is stopping entry into America, but stopping exit from the affected countries. Quarantines have only worked for thousands of years, I see no reason to abandon them now.- What's wrong with the Air Force?
It sounds right because it is. I've never met the CSAF, but he seems like a solid bro who's trying to get shit done. I have met and worked with a couple hundred CGOs, NCOs, and Airmen. For the most part they're good people doing amazing stuff. So if the problem isn't the top or bottom, then it must be somewhere in between.- War on Ebola
This happened about two weeks ago.- Ejecting
So I took this thread a little off topic, let me rerail. I know a student pilot ejected at Vance back in 2010, do we know if he graduated?- Ejecting
Oh I know; it's just that there was absolutely a vibe of them taking his mistakes personally. Which is somewhat wierd because most of the cadre there when I went through were probably in elementary school at the time O'Grady was shot down.- Ejecting
They hate that guy there.- hi
You want to deploy, and so do all the other Lt's. The shift work grind sucks, and dudes are looking for a way out. We just had a dude volunteer for a 179 doing TCN guard duty. My squadron has an unofficial policy of "everyone gets firsts before anyone gets seconds". I can't speak for other squadrons. Additionally, I've met exactly two pilots with two or more LRE deployments. As always: timing is everything and your mileage may vary. As far as "switching back to regular civilian life", I wouldn't worry about it ... you won't have time. Expect to work 50-70 hours a week. You'll have time to go to work, maybe hit the gym then get some sleep. Rinse and repeat. - What's wrong with the Air Force?
