  1. Did you have to get the AoR for wearing these? I don't wanna blow another $140 on "flight approved" boots when I already have these. I just wear them.
  2. That's funny of you think O-5 qualifies as senior leadership. Sq cmd is a great spot for leaders, but that is the last time an O-5 has any real-ish power.
  3. Seamaster was awesome too but if we want to take this thread derailment to it's logical conclusion... On a serious note, it was interesting to see even back in the 50's there was an effort to merge more of the mobility missions into one platform, direct delivery into an austere / difficult AOR and AR for a support CAP Awesome!
  4. Nike SFB's are nice. Had them about a year. Won't ever go back to "authorized" boots.

Agree with positive Star Wars reviews. Was excellent, amd would watch again. Minor complaints here and there, but great movie that recaptured much of the feel of the originals.
  6. There in 2011, and I had a similar, if not more relaxed atmosphere. Never even wore blues. If go back in a heartbeat!
  7. Quite a few friends did this, and are happy in the Guard right now while I'm stuck in a staff job. I was really blown away by the AF's lack of understanding of what's going on in the AF with every general that marched across the stage and basically told us it was up to us (a bunch of O-4) to fix all the problems they'd created. Sometimes they would almost say that verbatim... I was on an exchange, away from Big Blue, when I made my choice, so I don't think I had all the information to make an informed decision. I'm in now, so I'll make the best of it, but I wish I had chosen otherwise.
  8. I didn't punch before school, and now wish I had. Tell him to run.
  9. Already seen the integration talks at ACC... We thought it was a great joke.
  10. Space gone, Intel continued.
  11. Know two guys that got early notification. One has to be out by Dec 1, and they continued the other guy 5 years, just before he would get sanctuary... ETA: one Intel, and one space guy.

Care to quantify "a lot"? I don't think it's all that much, but that could be because I don't respect them as people. Great SEALS while they were active duty, but self glorifying after the fact... Their books are full of "I'm so awesome!" it's disgusting.
  13. Yeah, the thing that bugs me the most is knowing the NFL didn't do this stuff for free. Disingenuous doesn't do it justice.
  14. Wife's family is from the area. I love Spokane, but not much chance of ever getting stationed there. I guess I forgot Huey drivers were included in Rescue.
  15. I bit, but I'm at school right now anyway, so why not. It's an extra 2 years on top of school commitment, but I'm curious as to why, in Rescue, we have a take rate so much higher than everyone. I love our mission, and I have always worked with good people. We're busy though, and that's not changing anytime soon. Curious... I can't wait to get away from Maxwell...
  16. Money in the bank when you die is wasted. My kids and grandkids can get a job and contribute to society like the rest of us. They'll be just fine without a huge inheritance... So many people preaching about being rich in retirement. Comfortable suits me just fine.
  17. We're better at training now though, so both are valid points.
  18. If true, what a buffoon!
  19. Anyone have any experience in Carrollton or Smithfield? Thinking about building out that way. I PCS in July. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of great houses on the market yet.

PM your.mil if you're still looking. I have a buddy who just renovated a room above his detached garage in Old Cloverdale.

Unsure if directed at my comment. No haterade going on, just an observation. Is SAASS good, sure, but my comment still stands. I said nothing about being a careerist, only that they pick people they know are going to promote later on. I am a school guy, have a few friends at SAASS now, and selected for next year. They aren't careerists, but it's obvious they are on an upwards vector. Not hating, just stating fact.

Yeah, be someone who is a shoe-in for BTZ and an obvious fast burner. They pick guys they know will make O-6 so they can say it's because of their attendance to SAASS. Otherwise, it's a records review and a garbage paper they won't read.
  23. 11F's being the flavor of the month is different how from the norm? It's an 11F AF. I don't say this bitterly, just stating fact.
  24. What about the best schools?
