A DP from a 3/4-star will probably get you promoted BPZ. A DP from anyone including BQZip's mom will get you promoted IPZ.

So the flight commander thinks they should have been promoted but nobody else up their chain of command thinks so? I think your efforts are better spent communicating with the senior rater and figuring out what they need to do to get the APZ DP (Wing Exec/staff/CAG, etc.). Unless something was wrong in their record, in which case maybe it can be corrected for a supplemental.

It's just a job. The Air Force is just a business. This way I don't get my feels hurt when the Air Force does stupid stuff.

I saw a brief at A/TA that said 25% of in-res spots would go to candidates this year. My wing had it's #1 Wg/CC candidate push get picked up on his 3d look. I'd say the chances of going in-res today are much better than they've been in the past 3-4 years.

I don't mind the top brass having all the jointness and schoolness in the world. They are bureaucrats, not operators anymore. An average operational background is probably good enough, but if they don't have a sound foundation of international relations, domestic policy, glad-handing, etc they're going to have a tough time as CSAF. Now operators on the other hand should be able to choose to stay in their chosen profession and become tactical experts without the up-or-out problems of the current day.

I guess i don't understand the logic behind a do-not-promote letter. there is no ADSC with the promotion, so take it and go to the Guard, or get out when you want anyway.

I've selected a percentage that I know will be greater than the contribution limit for the year and am counting on the TSP not allowing the "overage" amount. I guess I'll see how that works out in a month or so. It's the only way I can think of to contribute the exact max amount.

Did you just call up AMEX to get the annual fee waived by SCRA? I have the no-fee Hilton Honor AMEX but this year I'm going to miss making Gold, so I'm looking into option for next year.
