  1. I may have gone over the speed limit to get to grocery store before they were closed...but if they were closed when I arrived I never broke in just because the store didn't meet my level of convenience.

  4. - Volunteer for anything aircraft-related (i.e. tail swaps, any and all TDYs, engine changes with MX, static displays, anything really) - Take out the trash - Make good corn - Don't be a weirdo in general - Hang out with the guys - Be extremely nice to everyone's significant other and ensure your significant other (if you have one) does the same - Treat the Boss like a normal human being and talk to him when he's around in the bar - Ask questions even if you think you know the answer - Have a good time

  6. She was recently promoted to 4 stars and will be the next commander of the Pacific Combat Air Command. What's interesting, her career started as a ABM and never piloted an aircraft. She should be in the running in being the 1st CoSAF without being a pilot. Interesting times for the future of the AF.

  8. YGBFSM...are you really comparing my desire for people to simply immigrate here legally to slavery? You never cease to amaze me in the mental gymnastics you do on here Vertigo. How is trying to get people to legally immigrate denying freedom? If that's the case, please post your address so I can come by and take anything I see that I might like. You wouldn't want to deny my freedom to be happy with your stuff now, would you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Hardly obtuse, even a caveman can understand it. You say we, the people, should open the border and let everyone in which means we, the people, pay for those items such as education, health care, etc. And since you can't give anyone anything without first taking it from someone else, it means we, the people, must pay for it in the form of taxes which monies were formerly the private property of we, the people. So, private property rights are already being stepped on before anyone steps foot through your doorway. So, if you think opening the border is the most humane act of human kindness, I invite you to demonstrate your gushing appreciation of your fellow man by stepping up by example and housing, feeding, educating, and providing for the medical needs of those you verbally support. 10. In a different thread, I suggested that Vertigo should take in a house full of illegals and pay for their food, shelter, health care, and education. I think that would be very considerate and show what a concerned and caring person he is.

  11. Don't forget all the lessons you learned as a prior. And don't think that being prior enlisted makes you any better than the 2LT next to you. And for the love of God , don't salute 1st Lts unless you are standing next to a Chief or a Commander. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

  12. Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying, I've never broken the law intentionally or unintentionally. Ever. I'm perfect in every way. Thanks for using your insightful prowess to brutally and completely prove that if you have ever violated any law or regulation in he US that you have no legal or moral right to expect that the laws of the US concerning illegal immigration should be enforced.

  14. It may be a pain but so it driving the speed limit, paying your taxes and pretty much anything else customer service related with the government but it is what we've got. Without it (the law, due process, general order and civility) we're nothing more than another loosely governed country that is not ruled by law but whatever group is the loudest or most violent.

  15. If that was a viable option for most immigrants, don't you think they'd go that route? It's not. It's expensive, it's laborious, it's beauracratic, and the wait is unrealistic. So they do what they must because the legal option isn't really an option. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

  16. Why not take a hard look at our war on drugs? Seems to me that a big part of this mess is folks wanting to escape the criminal organizations that have grown & prospered due to our own demand for their products. And also members of criminal organizations trying to get over here to help their gangs with distribution & such. Long term solution I know - and I agree 100% that border security is the short term solution - but in the long term so long as we want their drugs the narcos and gangs will continue to wreak havoc in Central America. That's going to keep both the gangsters & the refugees flowing our way. Not saying I have the specific plan or answer, but any real fix is going to require people smarter than I to look what's causing this mess. zb http://www.militarytimes.com/article/20140708/NEWS01/307080064/SOUTHCOM-chief-Central-America-drug-war-dire-threat-U-S-national-security

  18. 1. No. I said the program doesn't work so we need to fix it. 2. Pretty much. Are you saying the slaves had it great even though they weren't free? They got food, shelter, were allowed to have families, had a job, right? That freedom part wasn't needed. " Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves." Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App! And in that same thread you were obtuse in regards to private property rights. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

  19. Or we fix our policies and allow those immigrants to pay into the system. But nah, let's just forego that option and instead spend those SAME tax dollars (private property being taken from you) to deny freedoms. Securing and enforcing border security isn't free. You're paying for it. And that payment will continue to grow. You're still spending tax dollars, it's just going to another function. Get it yet? Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

  20. No what I'm saying is if you've ever gone over the speed limit on purpose you know why illegals come across illegally. Because the law was a hindrance and not a help to their goals. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

  22. So your line of thinking is they come in illegally just because they want to break the law. Brilliant! If the process worked, they would use it. There's no reason not to. Why risk coming in to the country illegally if it was easy, and cheap for them to come in legally? Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
