I think a lot of venues will start avoiding these types of events because of the risk nowadays. Especially if their insurance carrier says no to coverage. Governments regulate some things, but the insurance companies are the pseudo regulatory agency of many aspects of life.

Welsh III President September 9, 2025 Members of the Aggie Family, I am reaching out today to follow up on a statement I distributed through social media yesterday regarding an ongoing issue with one of our 16,000 course sections. I directed the Provost to remove the College of Arts and Sciences Dean and English Department Head from their administrative positions. This afternoon, following full consideration of the facts related to this situation, I directed the Provost to terminate the professor involved, effective immediately. Please understand that these decisions were mine alone and were not made lightly. While I cannot provide all the details at this time, I will share the following facts. This summer, a children’s literature course contained content that did not align with any reasonable expectation of standard curriculum for the course. After this issue was raised, college and department leadership worked with students to offer alternative opportunities for students to complete the course, and made changes to ensure this course content does not continue in future semesters. At that time, I made it clear to our academic leadership that course content must match catalog descriptions for each and every one of our course sections. However, I learned late yesterday that despite that directive, the college continued to teach content that was inconsistent with the published course description for another course this fall. As a result, I took the above administrative actions, and deans and department heads will conduct an audit of course offerings to ensure they align with the course descriptions. Our students use the published information in the course catalog to make important decisions about the courses they take in pursuit of their degrees. If we allow different course content to be taught from what is advertised, we break trust with our students. When it comes to our academic offerings, we must keep faith with our students and with the state of Texas. This isn’t about academic freedom; it’s about academic responsibility. Our degree programs and courses go through extensive approval processes, and we must ensure that what we ultimately deliver to students is consistent with what was approved. I'll explain it. It's different because people on the right were calling for people to be doxxed for things that literally every sane person in the world agrees with - i.e. murdering people based on their beliefs is something that should not be tolerated. So yeah, let's dox those people in order to shame them and root out what is a sick and anti-social sect of people who for whatever reason seem to be gaining power in our country. On the other hand, people on the left were using doxxing as a means to impose a measure of social pressure and control on groups of people they would fear would speak out against their latest social fad / cause: all whites are racists, but Blacks cannot be racist; transgenderism is natural, etc, etc. In other words they're using doxxing to avoid having a conversation about what are controversial topics. In short, the right is using doxxing to preserve society and social norms. The left is using it to undermine society. See the difference? I will say fairly, that using doxxing to target bystanders (i.e. someone's family) is gross no matter what the circumstances. Sins of the father and all... And I'm not sure what your opinion is on nuclear weapons, but we wouldn't respond in-kind to NK with a bio or chem attack because we don't have those types of weapons anymore. But if NK used bio / chem in an appreciable way (not a couple shells here or there) that was going to turn the tide of battle in their favor, you better believe we'd pull out the nukes.

It's that time of year again, gentlemen!!

Yeah I did, and also had my letter of rec from a retired O-6 that I did all of my flight training with (probs a big misstep since they want to see someone from your chain of command to vouch for leadership). I will say that FY23 was pretty competitive with only 69 pilot slots. I wouldn’t be discouraged either way, if the rumors end up being true and we have solid numbers I think we all have a good shot at getting picked up.

A little drama in my backyard. Pensacola has a small railroad bridge that is called the Graffiti Bridge where people paint murals and messages. There is a local artist who does some detailed work whenever a famous person or someone in the news dies. Last week he did one for Iryna Zarustska, the Ukrainian woman stabbed on the train in Charlotte. Yesterday afternoon he started one for Charlie Kirk and knowing the time he planned to finish the community planned a vigil for Charlie Kirk last evening at sunset and quite a few people showed up including a BLM activist who ran up and sprayed the mural just as the event began. The crowd didn't take to kindly and someone sauced pretty him pretty good. He ran away with a police escort (no one laid a finger on him which is shocking). He then "collapsed" in the street and they took him away in an ambulance. BLM went back out last night and defaced it again. And by midnight our wonderful friends on the left had done this.
