  1. Looking forward to seeing what the experts discover. NOT looking forward to what the YouTube aircraft ambulance chasers will speculate on, to get their ratings up.
  2. No correlation. I'm the best pilot I've ever flown with and I majored in engineering. But I've known fuzzy majors who weren't half bad too.
  3. Fuck the SEALs. Plenty of good ones but an above average amount of shitbags for a Tiered organization. I worked at the Beach; they have a massive ego issue within the command. How anyone could see this account and not be excited to celebrate Chapman is beyond me but they’ve drawn it out for years. Disgusting.
  4. The SEALs involved with this incident are simply disgusting. The gunship was from my squadron the situation is still a sore point. Rob Harrison, now a retired CMSgt, was the DSO on board Grim that night and he fought hard to get Chappy recognized. Greta interview with Rob here.
  5. For those didn't know Rob, he was "the Tom Brady" of the aerobatic world (for lack of a better comparison). And a very, very pleasant and humble person. A dedicated professional who wanted to always be the best. And he was. Him him...
  6. I've unfortunately had pretty much a uniformly negative experience with SEAL leadership at the FGO and GO/FO level. The guys at the team level were usually pretty good but even there they usually weren't my favorite organization to work with. After looking at all the evidence I honestly don't understand how they thought stonewalling Chapman's MOH was going to work out/be a good idea. Pretty atrocious behavior from the SEALs all around, and it's continuing.
  7. Funny I was an Aero major but philosophy was one of the most interesting classes to me.
  8. "his buddy Putin?" 2016 called.....
  9. https://babylonbee.com/news/cnn-reports-behind-closed-doors-pope-is-focused-sharp-and-energetic
  10. I'm a Reserve dude, but projected for the 14 Aug class at Vance
  11. Finally have my assignment! Please let me know if any Vance people are in 10 Sep class, or just Vance in general!
  12. Then it would have been even more funny to show him in a fancy curated PowerPoint presentation that GA guys with 4 hours of training can figure out how to fly a taildragger safely. That isn't even a fraction as complicated or challenging of a skill to learn as formation flying or even hovering a helicopter. Even a rotorhead could do it.
  13. Valid question as well. I learned to fly in a J3 Super Cub and of course there are few unique skills associated with tailwheel aircraft. I am not in the know but I would assume the initial cadre will get a tailwheel transition then it will become just another part of the syllabus. I also think AFSOC will eventually acquire a few slick 802's for training.
