I was wondering about this myself. I am very happy with how my situation worked out, but was also expecting the AF to say "fvck you, you are getting promoted and serving out the remainder of your ADSC". On the other side of the coin, I talked to a couple of my 11x buddies who were passed over unexpectedly. Only one of them had a negative indicator. I had buddies that were current/qualified Viper pilots who ended up getting passed over, who were planning on staying 20+. How can Goldfinger and Wilson even have a straight face talking about a "Pilot Shortage" to congress, the airlines or whoever the hell else will still listen after the bloodbath from the past O-5 and O-4 board for pilots? Honest question. I really want to know how they spin this.

Yes it's hard to follow. The gist I get is he's a reservist who just finished becoming a load, boom, or FE. He Q3'd at his squadron and then Q3'd again during requal. His leadership gave him three options: 1. Go to the IRR and it will be swept under the rug. He didn't want to do this because he would lose out on IDT/AT pay until a unit took a gamble on him and gained him from the IRR. This could never happen because he has multiple Q3s. He also would lose out on a good year points wise for retirement. 2. He could voluntarily give up his wings and permanently DQ himself iaw 11-402. 3. FEB He elected #3 and it appears that the FEB went poorly for him and now Gen Miller or Gen Scobee has to approve the FEB recommendation (no wings probably). He's saying that the FEB process was biased and that they don't have eyewitness testimony to his Q3s which doesn't make sense to me. It seems to be the old, leadership is out to get me argument.

It still bobbles my mind that the republicans, many of whom have been in office for quite a while, didn't have a polished, well thought out, well researched, and ready to go "Obama care repeal" oplan on the shelf. I guess I'll continue to vote anti-encumbent ....

brick, I understand your anger, and I get your post, but ONLY in the context of why you voted for Trump. I was in the "wait and see" camp when Trump got elected, and was excited to see what he and the GOP would do with a unified house, senate, white house, and supreme court. I've been horrified by the last six months. I understand that you are a true believer, and that nothing I say (and nothing Trump does) is going to change your mind. Just please understand that there are people like me, who consider themselves conservative (think WSJ, not Breitbart), who believe that Trump's contempt for things like the rule of law concern me as much as anything that happened during the Obama era. He seems to believe that he is the King of America, and his consistently erratic behavior is not something I value in the person who controls our nuclear arsenal.
