I'm trying to get in touch with someone at Baseops to place some advertisements, but no one has responded to multiple messages through their feedback form or Facebook messaging. The buyads.com link on the "advertise" page links to a dead location. Anyone have an idea of who to talk to about advertising since Rich has passed (RIP)? I see the site has been recently updated, so someone must be putting some time into it. Cheers.

Folks, In a few weeks, I will be performing a major upgrade. I will make a few more announcements here once I know when the expected down time and duration will be.

At some point over the past few weeks (maybe even months), for any Baseops page I open, the top tab continues to spin as if the page is still trying to load. The page is fully functional, but it's as if it's still trying to load up. It only happens with Baseops (forums and main pages), no other pages. It only happens with Mozilla (29.0), I'm using Windows 7. I've looked at the Mozilla FAQs and nothing seems to fit (it addresses the spinning, but only for websites that don't open or completely lock up).

Any idea when the Aviation Jobs site will be back up? Unable to access via Safari.

If your e-mail address is wrong on your baseops profile, and you get a "private" message in our personal message system, the e-mail bounces back to our system and clogs up the e-mail system. It takes a lot of extra time to clean that up, plus I don't wanna see Matmacwc talk to Deaddebate about getting crabs from a hooker in bangkok. so, I used to not have a problem logging into the boards from work, but then we migrated to AFNET, and the redirect page when you hit submit to login gets blocked. In the past if they happened, I was usually able to just refresh the page and the login would have taken, but not anymore. Any idea how to login at work, or are we just SOL?

DFRESH, Any insight on what happened to the functionality to quote a single post multiple times with ease? i.e. you used to be able to hit "quote" on a dude's lengthy post, then intersperse your own comments by just using "[ quote ]" and "[ /quote ]" tags (minus the spaces). It enabled you to speak to many points made within one post in a coherent way. Am I just too dumb to figure out how to to do that in the new-look forums? Thanks again for all the work on the site, you are a great American!

Hope everybody is happy to see BODN back! There were a lot of attacks occurring over the past few weeks. Today I was finally able to get access to the server side, unfortunately about 4 hours too late. Fortunately, I have been able to get the server restarted! So, there may be some down time and some new/different looking icons over the next 24 hours as I run much needed updates to our server.

I've noticed after downloading the new iOS that when I click on a link in a thread, the new page that opens up doesn't have a back button or any other navigation options that let you get back to the thread you were reading. I have to go all the way out and open BODN back up. I'm sure somebody else out there much smarter than me has figured out how to get back.

As of tonight, I'm getting these two pages when I try to go to the forums main page. I'm using Firefox 23.0.1 on OS X 10.6.8 And when I click "Why was this page blocked?"

First off we want to thank everyone for making this such an informative, interactive and interesting forum. Hopefully as of late you've noticed some site improvements and recent changes across the sites. We are far from done! We want to continue to build and improve upon the Baseops network. That being said, if you notice any dead links and/or information or content that is out of date, please let us know. It would be helpful if you could be as detailed as possible and we will see that it gets updated in short order. We have already had an influx of feedback and suggestions - please keep them coming! did someone hack BO.net and put a bunch of Thunderchickens on the main page?

So I fucked up and changed my theme from IP.Board to IP.Board (Pre 3.2). I can only post from my phone now and I can't seem to find the Change theme button in this format. Anyone have ideas for switching it back?

For those of you with privacy concerns. Google Adsense, Google Analytics and Viglink ad bots are tracking this website. There is also a google supercookie tracking you as well. I use ghostery , AdBlock and Disconnect on my safari. I think FireFox has the same extensions. Love this forum, just wanted you to know. Just found DoubleClick and Google +1 as well. Apparently an individual with the profile name "uaeflyman" sent several PMs to people asking for help in locating flight manuals for the Su-24. His account has been flagged and banned, and all three of his IP addresses (Washington, Berlin, and Tehran - 46.36.116.56) have likewise been banned, so he should not be able to log back in with that account. You do not need to report any PMs you receive, simply delete them.

BO.net, I noticed the eLearners distance learning ad is really slowing down load times when I try to access the forums homepage. Wondering if anyone else had this issue? Firefox tells me "looking up nexus.elearners.local" ~nsplayr

Recently upgraded to IE9. One behavior this site has that I have not seen on other sites: when I click on an external link, I get the new tab w/ the linked page--but I also get the current (baseops) page switching over to the new link (i.e., I end up with *two* of the link I just clicked on as well as being inadvertently navigated away from baseops). It's in the "minor annoyance" category, since a simple work-around is to hold down the CTRL key when clicking (gets you the link on a new page w/o advancing the current one--i.e., the desired behavior), and using the back-arrow for when I forget to do that.
