  1. This article is terrible, to be honest. The deaths are all presented in percentages (yet the numbers are all small, so going from 4 to 10 represents 150%). Neither the article nor the data point to the causes of death having to do with the vaccine or COVID. In fact, they almost explicitly omit any mention as to the causes, other than to correlate the timing of the offering of child vaccines. “Though there is a pattern of increased deaths since the shots began being used in children, the causes of the deaths were not published.” I am willing to wager the increases in deaths are sadly related to the isolations. We fly medevac sorties frequently in Europe, and there is a marked increase in pediatric suicide attempts or ideations. Scary stuff.
  2. Hey, I remember hearing this idea from some dude in a B-hut once! 😁
  3. Meh. The one we got in Europe is fairly simple. Literally a QR code to be scanned. Not difficult at all.
  4. I find this extremely hard to believe, considering the complete lack of flight discipline and numerous safety issues I’ve seen flying around Deutschland for the past year. Everything from scud running gliders handing around the final approach fix for hours on end to helos and fighters crossing in front of aircraft on final. There is certainly not a lot of conservatism built into German aviation.
  5. Trust me when I say you won’t want them anymore…
  6. Lockdowns certainly increased the benefits of buying abroad and through the internet. China specializes in outsourcing goods and shipments. Can’t imagine how any sort of lockdowns (stifling local purchasing) would benefit the economic hegemony China enjoys…/s
  7. If you aren’t a graduated SQ/CC, the odds are infinitesimally small you’ll be picked up for SDE first look.
  8. The real victim in all of this is the poor shlub who has to translate all of this into sign language!
  9. Can’t you still transmit COVID regardless of vaccination? https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/fully-vaccinated-against-covid-19-so-what-can-you-safely-do-2021032522230
  10. Glad someone else noticed this. Went an entire term without creating another forever war and suddenly the party of peaceful resolution wants to start striking everyone with reckless abandon...
  11. So as I sit here after being told (again) our OG will only be released a SINGLE DIGIT number of doses this week (again) in my OCONUS assignment due to lack of availability, it’s a little bit infuriating to hear about all of the vaccines we are shipping off to other countries. I am absolutely a fan of sharing the wealth, but when we have mission requirements driving ROM, copious testing, and the resultant impacts to users associated with both, seems like we’re missing the bubble with regard to distribution strategy. @congressman
  12. Why for the love of everything sacred do we insist on designing PT uniforms to require a tucked-in t-shirt?!
  13. I imagine if the Air Force could muster $135M to get 40 x IPs and 40 x MX and 252k flight hours in T-6s, they’d likely spend that money to replace IFS or make it a part of UPT and fix the glitch and training backlogs. That’s a lot of training capacity for not much money at all! ...but that would make sense and won’t happen.
  14. Another plug for Jon and Lisa. Finished our signing in Germany using local notary despite the house being in MD. Closed on our 2.25% rate and saving over $500/month on our payment. Thanks for setting us up and making this a reality!
  15. Pentagon ZIP for housing allowances shows DC.
  16. The irony is the intent of the test (beyond muscular endurance) has always been a desire to measure VO2 max. You can do that walking up to a machine and placing a sensor on your finger.
  17. I was just waiting for the third-string linebacker on special teams to put a block on her like Superfly Jimmy Snuka and stand over the top of her like Terry Tate...
  18. Another Trident plug: Locked in to 2.25% this week and starting the process on my VA refi. Fairly simple to knock out the application, approval near-immediate, and awesome lender credits! Looking forward to finishing the process and very impressed so far! Jon and Lisa definitely work hard to make this easy on the customer.
  19. If you’re stuck overseas with a house that has a renter in it, what sort of IRRL rates are available? Impact to funding fee usage?
  20. Which is a worse scenario? - Gay couple loves each other, gets married for the intent of sharing a life together (inclusive of intrinsic benefits of said union) - Straight individuals married purely for the sake of the benefits provided (tax, citizenship, health care, etc.) It seems a bit hypocritical for society to attack one of these demographics but ignores the other. It also shouldn’t be at the forefront of political debate with so many real issues facing the world, but our society has the attention span of a peanut, so there’s that Just one open-minded conservative’s opinion...
  21. False. In the delay of the 2018 release, it went until 12 December. They pinned on two increments with no back pay provided the day the list was voted approved.
  22. It has to come from reallocation of spending. The hurt feelings have to suck it up and realize in the prioritization of resources, spending billions for niche bullshit has to end in order to improve things for the greater good. Look at ratios; most people proportionally receive far less benefit than what they pay for. The “one-offs” of the world receive a significantly higher benefit for their contributions and often continue to benefit beyond the scope of the original intent of many of the programs the government funds. No one should be able to solely live off of government “assistance” alone, but people game the system to the point where 40%+ of Americans pay nothing in and receive a large share of the output. Meanwhile, the remainder population is either vilified (like the Top 10% who pay 90% of the tax revenue) or are at the back of the line to receive the benefits they’re expecting the government to fund (like infrastructure improvements).
  23. Ain’t this the truth! I’ve seen more “check out my long-time friend who is ________ “ videos from so many GOs as of late it’s nauseating and comes off as completely for show
  24. OK. I’ll play. If he was my WG/CC, his performance is way better than you let on. His GP/CCs (Governors) have received everything they needed* (important to distinguish between wants and needs) to conduct the mission. When they needed ventilators, hospital ships, etc, they received it. I’m not taking this down the rabbit hole of unemployment benefits given the shit show of shenanigans associated with the game. The benefit my WG/CC has is he can fire underperforming GP/CCs and SQ/CCs (governors and mayors). He has the ability to massage the leadership to manage the crisis, not stand there and take the mutiny. It is nothing short of absolute horseshit to vilify the “inaction of the administration” when local and state governments are putting condoms on the monkey to let it go fuck the football. Where is the outrage for cities and states not enforcing PPE and distancing requirements? It has somehow become popular for the federal government to be responsible for the failures of local-level officials. In all of the issues we see regularly, it’s mind boggling how little local communities are seen doing to improve their situations other than pointing the finger at the federal government. This is exactly why socialism fails, and for some reason a large portion of our nation can’t see this ugly truth staring them in the face because the glow of “free shit” is blinding them. FUCK!
