  1. My humble appreciation for those deployed and were supposed to come home soon. Nothing is a bigger kick in the morale junk than to be extended at the last minute. Sorry, dudes/dudettes.

  2. Bigger brains enlighten me please. Why would we not hit pause on incoming members/training pipelines and instead put a stop loss in place? The training pipeline introduces a huge number of challenges in facing this virus whether that be dorms, classrooms, chow halls, transportation etc. I have one guy in training at Little Rock right now. When he graduates he will not be running around our squadron. He will be virtually in-processing and staying home until this passes. On the other side, folks that were planning on leaving the military are not going to find a healthy job market for the next few months, have experience in their jobs and are at least somewhat established in their communities allowing them to establish better distancing from others.

  3. The Shining is a great one to watch while cooped up with your family for weeks on end. 😄

  4. This impacts me directly. I'm slated to retire 1 Aug, with terminal starting late May. I fully expect it to happen and think it's probably the right call if we're "maintaining mission readiness." I'll always love this country, and I'll be grateful to the AF for my opportunities...even if she's a fickle bitch quite often. That being said...if I don't get moved to a job where I can legit telework 90% of the time and not be hassled by the Bob's asking me to line up shit on a ppt better I'm going to start having "discipline issues."

  5. I mean I'm gonna go with the advice of epidemiologists and health security professionals...although I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Just kidding, I stayed the f*ck home. Our economy will recover from a relatively short-duration shutdown to combat a critical health crisis, especially with proper support from the government. What won't recover is people's lives that are lost if we disregard the advice of people who actually know what they're talking about.

  6. Can someone tell me what that is? Do they mean the Comm squadron, because that's not fucking "cyber."

  7. As far as I'm aware, that's pretty much the whole purpose of FID missions. Getting an actual squadron of A-29s or AT-6 is obviously really hard, though. Although, I went digging into the NDAA FY2020 and found this: With Gen Brown being up for CSAF next, I'd say chances are looking good

  8. "Military Raises Health Protection Level Globally, Halts Deployments" - "The Defense Department raised its Health Protection Condition level at every military installation globally to the second highest level as the new coronavirus outbreak spreads and more personnel test positive for the COVID-19 virus." - "The Pentagon also ordered all U.S. troops abroad to freeze movements for 60 days, meaning those currently deployed or at home preparing to deploy will stay in their current positions for the duration of the order." - Etc, etc, etc. https://www.airforcemag.com/military-raises-health-protection-level-globally-halts-deployments/

  9. I read Hydroxy and immediately thought of this. I can see the ads now. "Sick, feeling wheezy, but you're also a fatty and need to drop 184 pounds? Have I got a deal for you!"

  10. Since "latest" movie isn't really a thing, thought I'd throw a few out there for our various quarantines. Just watched "The Highwaymen." A loosely based true story of two retired Texas Rangers saddling up for one last time to track down Bonnie and Clyde. Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson do a good job of it. For you youngsters, if you haven't ever seen "Cool Hand Luke," I highly encourage it. Top 5 on my all time list.
