23 hours ago23 hr A place to post the wonderful policies and stories from the failed state of California. We could start with excrement in the streets of San Francisco, the annual deficit of $18B projected to grow to $35B (gotta pay for those illegals), residents fleeing this failed state, 45% of the nation's homeless, robbery rate is 124% higher than the national average, with significantly higher rates of arson (77%), motor vehicle theft (77%), and burglary (51%), highest taxes in the nation, 2.3 of all students failing basic math standards....but lets start with something simple...government malfeasance and failure around the green scam.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBE6KyXroeI
22 hours ago22 hr California is a masters class in how not to govern at every level. But, when you have a lot of very stupid people living on the coast, you’re going to get very stupid, elected officials.
6 hours ago6 hr Anecdotal: But I hate my downtown SFO & LA layovers. I won't bid them anymore.About 6 weeks ago in SFO, there were a good two dozen fentanyl zombies right outside the hotel. Noped out of my normal exploratory walk real quick. My last LA downtown was human shit right outside the entrance to the hotel and a large police presence in the hotel to keep non-patrons out. Redondo Beach or Marina del Rey for me now on only.
4 hours ago4 hr I'm a Californian, God help me. That being said, it's all about location. If you go to downtown LA, you will encounter human shit on the ground. Orange County has a lot less shitty places. It's actually nice to live here (in OC). As for the crime, I have had one car stolen and another one broken into over a lifetime. It comes with the territory. To be honest, it's really not that bad living here, if you know where to stay away from.
1 hour ago1 hr I’ll be honest, it took me a solid 10 seconds. I said, holy $hit, did CH really just start a legit “old man yells at cloud” thread? Just to rant about a state he doesn’t even live in? But in case anyone’s wondering, the purpose of this thread is to serve as an echo chamber and repository of right-wing hysteria ahead of Gavin Newsom announcing his candidacy. That’s it. This is the prelude to that inevitable announcement. It's a thread for those so inclined to, when Fox cuts to commercials hawking gold bullion, MyPillows, and mesothelioma class action suits, continue frothing at the mouth and seething over the fear of the Gov of CA potentially replacing the dear leader. We could start a thread about failed Conservative states, plural. You might find these red state statistics interesting: West Virginia #1 in obesity & diabetes, #1 in drug overdoses, #1 in disability rates, #4 in poverty, #50 in life expectancy, #50 in college degree attainment. Louisiana #1 in poverty, #1 in incarceration, #2 in homicide, #2 in maternal mortality, #3 in teen pregnancy, #45 in life expectancy.Mississippi: #2 in obesity, #2 in poverty, #2 in incarceration, #2 in high-school drop-out rate, #1 in teen pregnancy, #50 in median income, #50 in infant mortality, #49 in life expectancy. That’s just a short sample. In virtually every negative statistic you can imagine, you will find AL, LA, MS, WV, AR, KY, OK, and TN at the top (or bottom) of that list. But, perhaps it’s moot because none of those godforsaken states have a candidate. Afterall, the GOP gets their favorite candidates from places like Manhattan and Miami. Lol!
1 hour ago1 hr I don't want to throw Biff under a Frontier Airbus but, holy moly, I've never had a car stolen or broken into and describing those issues as "comes with the territory" is a sad summation of civilization in a once great state.

For me, Orange County is a good place to live. My car was stolen in the SF Bay Area. My other car was broken into over 20 years ago when I was a young man surfing in south OC. There are millions of people here and there are several bad apples. Edit: But my overall experience living here has been great. Edited 54 minutes ago54 min by Biff_T Afterthought
