February 4Feb 4 Trump's Foreign Policy is a big departure from President's past.He removed the criminal leading Venezuela, Iran is about to fall and, not getting much press is the full court press on Cuba. Not a fully named embargo but little oil is getting in and they likely have less than 30 days reserve on island. Interesting that Maduro's protection element was all Cuban and it is coming to light that there was a lot of fentanyl coming in through via and enabled by Cuba.Numerous Russian military transports have landed in Cuba the last three weeks...intel indicated Air Defense, attack drones and ECM assets.Would be interesting if he took, Iran, Venezuela and Cuba all off the table as threats in a single term.

And true politicians for the most part seem to get very little done.
February 5Feb 5 If the regime collapses, we need to be ready for the inevitable mass exodus, this article does not give much confidence that planning/preparation is underway, I’m more neutral as this scenario I’m sure has been at least researched/simulated but I’d prefer public statements that we are prepared/preparing https://www.forbes.com/sites/craighooper/2026/02/04/with-cuba-on-the-ropes-america-is-unready-for-massive-cuban-exodus/Just my druthers I’d prefer a proposal to the communist regime for an orderly transition:Safe passage to the Russian Federation with compensation for high level, named government individuals or you can get a cell next to MaduroAmnesty for all other communist regime party and government officials following a truth and reconciliation process US commitment to a ten year economic support and aid program Demobilization of portions of the Cuban military and coordination for a US/Canadian/Spanish stabilization mission Formal processing center on the Cuban mainland for migrants seeking immediate release Diplomatic recognition simultaneously occurring with political & economic reforms, support tied to reasonable milestones. The expulsion of all non Western Hemisphere military, intelligence & non-state security threats/organizations personnel/equipment being the starting point
February 5Feb 5 Author Cuba could turn into the economic powerhouse of the Caribbean. I went to school with a lot of friends that came over during the Mariel Boat Lift....they flooded our schools when it happened. I've talked to many of them over the past few weeks including some who HATE Trump but are cheering what he did in Venezuela and potentially Cuba. Every single one of them can retire in the next few years but all have vowed to go back for a few years to help rebuild. So much potential and people don't realize how big Cuba is (55% the size of Florida).
February 6Feb 6 It would be great to have a healthy Cuba, and healthy western hemisphere for that matter. I just wish Trump realized that every time he changes his tariff policy, he drops a bomb on US long term economics. It might be working in the short term, but at what cost? I'd appreciate an administration that actually looked at the long game, not just the short game. But again, maybe they are looking at the long game with Cuba and South America...maybe there is some genius in these moves. Thankful that I get to sit back in safety and watch.

February 9Feb 9 Are Airlines that that still fly into Cuba able to tank fuel into Havana or stop do a fuel stop at Puerto Rico and just do an ops stop in Havana?

Anything bigger than an RJ or DC9 can do that round trip no problem. They could go to the max of 1 checked bag like they do for Key West, but even that won't be necessary on 73/320 or bigger. The fatalities occurred when the Cuban ship returned fire. The Interior Ministry provided the Florida registration number of the speedboat, and said it was detected about one nautical mile northeast of the El Pino channel, near the island of Cayo Falcones.“As a consequence of the confrontation, as of the time of this report, four aggressors on the foreign vessel were killed and six injured,” the ministry said, claiming that the injured persons were evacuated to receive medical care.“In the face of current challenges, Cuba reaffirms its determination to protect its territorial waters, based on the principle that national defense is a fundamental pillar of the Cuban State in safeguarding its sovereignty and ensuring stability in the region,” the ministry added, alluding to current tensions between the United States and Cuba.https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c24drvj8yl2o

Maybe not...Might be a case of FAFO and the anniversary to the Brothers to the Rescue shoot down is interesting to say the least, as it is only the Cubans word at this point that the FL boat shot first I’ll hold my cards but I gotta know if you have a boat that can go that distance on open water and presumably were planning on returning home, did you not know you were in Cuban waters? I’m not blaming the victim here but you gotta be careful and know your boundaries, particularly now when that regime is about ready to go under, wounded animal theory.

Entering this zone without authorization is illegal, and boats can face penalties including fines, imprisonment or vessel seizure. You can add direct action to that list! They knew where they were and what they were trying to do...that's FAFO territory in red!
