14 hours ago14 hr If this opens the door for the Massie and Rand Paul types to take over, then it would almost be worth it. Sadly I don’t think it will happen.

Sadly I don’t think it will happen.I hope that happens too, the problem is trump still has two more years in office and all the dems have to do to look good now is stonewall him on everything as he flails around wildly in his lame duck era. So I doubt they'll go into 2028 with any less momentum than they have now.But more broadly this is the biggest reversal I've seen in my lifetime from one party winning in a historic fashion across all branches of government with a clear mandate.. to an absolute bloodbath two years later. Exit polls show the Iran war was a huge driver of this bloodbath and I think history will show this was the decision that did more to torpedo trumps presidency than anything else. Now I can only hope he will get as few of us as possible killed in the remaining time he tries to fumblefuck his way out of it. Edited 13 hours ago13 hr by Pooter

If you look at 1990 to 1992, and 2006 to 2008, it didn’t matter that opposing party of the president had control of Congress…the party of the presidency still paid the price for the country not doing so hot. I think 2028 could be similar. And yep—Iran and the tariffs are what largely screwed everything up, but it was almost (if not all) self inflicted. In contrast I’d like to think the majority of the country doesn’t like what the Mamdani, AOC, or, Bernie Sanders types are pushing, but maybe I’m wrong and we’re at some sort of tipping point? If the people want the DNC is charge, so be it but if they hate Trump so much they are choosing Socialism that is another story. If Abdul El-Sayed wins we have crossed a line, the voters will have selected a man with deep ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, a man who signed a letter urging Egyptian leadership to PURGE the press, and he campaigned with a man who said America had 9/11 coming to it. That is beyond hate of Trump, that is the end of a great 250 year experiment.

There are so many midterms that seem absolutely seismic, like the 2014 repudiation of Obama, but the triumphant rush fades quickly and the back-and-forth continues.I am pretty stunned candidates like Talarico and El Sayed won so handily, but I guess that's life. The cost of living is terrible, the job market is terrible, and nobody seems to have any answers.
6 hours ago6 hr Govern from the center, govern well, don’t go on a revenge tour.47 couldn’t handle that, hence the blue wave. The GOP will come back in ‘28 if the Dems take this as a mandate to do a bunch of weird stuff. This was a referendum on Trump, NOT a blue mandate.Closed primaries ensure we get the wildest candidates from both sides.

What makes less sense to me is I’m pretty sure the Islamic religion frowns upon looking for group sex online and the belief that kids can change gender but stranger things have happened. Californians have this nasty habit of moving from their shithole state and voting the same policies that turned California into said shithole state. Hope you all enjoyed hearing the call to prayer downrange five times a day because that’s coming to a city near you.

3 hours ago3 hr Standby for left side gloating, a bunch of useless legal actions against Trump that will do absolutely nothing, and a worthless federal government with more attempts at DEI type BS, delayed military promotion boards, and absolutely no useful legislation passed for the next 2 years. So....ops normal. What's sincerely concerning is the El-Sayed win. THAT is the beginnings of how the USA becomes not the USA anymore. It was close. I'd love to see an audit of that vote to see exactly how it went down. Something like 11 of 83 counties in Michigan made that happen. Current stats say 2.5 mil to 2.1 mil is how he won...when there are over 8 million registered voters in Michigan. People need to get out and vote. The indifference of good people is how we lose America to Islam. Edited 3 hours ago3 hr by FourFans

44 minutes ago44 min It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Trump has nothing left to lose and will likely unleash hell on Iran. If he closes it (a BIG if), and gas prices drop....GDP is already STRONG at 3.4%. If gas prices drop and inflation cools the last two years of his tenure could be VERY good for our economy. The market is VERY happy today as they see things will bog down for the next two years. I was up $104K a little while ago.Oddly, oil is down below $90 ($88). I saw some raw data about all the new pipelines that have opened around the straight and how the flow is WAY up.Look for the GOP positioning to start soon....Desantis already had a news conference this morning distancing himself from the loss and touting the big wins in Florida that "held the line." Trump loves Vance, I am not a fan. I have been very impressed by Rubio and would prefer he jump to the front of the line. He is seen as more moderate and would capture a lot of the Hispanic/Latino vote.
