Good one.

I know the guy that did this, very unfortunate. Karma is a bitch though, I shouldn't have said anything, now it will happen to me.

London 2012 Organisers Wanted Keith Moon to Play at Olympics Ceremony

Keith-Moon-at-the-Montere-007.jpg

The London 2012 opening ceremony is going to be called Isles of Wonder, but there can be no wonderment more wonderful than the fact that Olympics organizers wanted Keith Moon to perform.

Moon has been dead for 34 years.

The drummer for The Who died in 1978 after ingesting 32 tablets of clomethiazole, a sedative he had taken for alcohol withdrawal symptoms.

The band's manager, Bill Curbishley, told the Sunday Times he had been approached to see if Moon "would be available" to play with the surviving members this summer.

"I emailed back saying Keith now resides in Golders Green crematorium, having lived up to the Who's anthemic line 'I hope I die before I get old'," came the excellent reply.

"If they have a round table, some glasses and candles, we might contact him."

For its part, the staff of the Guardian is just really looking forward to seeing Jesse Owens compete.

Kudos to The Guardian for that last line!

Cheers! M2

Well there goes my appetite.

WTF? Does Go Daddy think this is going to draw customers?!?

I am so f**king sick of Danica Patrick. Why do women who suck at their profession who happen to be hot get so much attention? There are plenty of hot models, porn stars, actresses, and singers who aren't failures at what they do . . . . why am I supposed to give a damn about her?

. . why am I supposed to give a damn about her?

Because she is hot. It's that simple really...

I U'dTFSF but this is probably still a repost. However it is a definite WTF:

Before you read a book about how to "Become a Fighter Pilot in 2011 and Beyond," you should probably make sure the author is ACTUALLY a fighter pilot, because in this particular instance, he is not. In fact, by the time this book went to print, this kid had never even stepped foot in a jet, let alone a fighter jet. This book is the equivalent of a virgin writing a book about how to become a pornstar.

My favorite book review:

"I read this book last week and yesterday I got my first job as a fighter pilot. Can anyone recommend a good book on learning how to speak like a native north Korean? I start on Monday so it has to be a short book."

70 fucking dollars?

What a jagoff.

Nobody wants to be a nav.

Shoulda gone to IFS with me....as soon as we hit the flight line all the navs were talking about how "they were glad they weren`t pilots" and a bunch of other garbage.........they thought being a nav was the best thing since sliced bread and were happy us "poor pilot" candidates had to fly the plane.......

If they're in IFS, are they really navs, or just nerds who finally made their way out of their mom's basement?

It's really hard to tell.

Both groups keep 12 sided dice in the sleeve pocket of their flight suits.

That's mandatory for EWs, i hear they don't even teach you the secret handshake till you can recite the entire Dungeons & Dragons manual & prove the existence of at least 7 Warcraft characters.

70 ######ing dollars?

What a jagoff.

New Price: $ 70.26

Used Price $ 70.27 - $144.31

Sounds like a real investment quality print, and it has already increased in value.

Oh, and let's not forget the major news media coverage of your great book:

I wasn't sure if this belongs here or in the Sword of Damocles thread, but either way, it made me throw up a little bit. I got this piece of news from AFA this morning. Its like all the sarcastic jokes were taken as valid advice. "Maybe if we fly less we can catch up on CBTs"...

When Less is More: The 19th Operations Group at Little Rock AFB, Ark., is reaping dividends from the decision made nearly one year ago to truncate the unit's C-130 flying operations from five days to four to leave Fridays dedicated to training, according to a base release. This change has led to increased training rates and improved deployment readiness, while saving taxpayer dollars, states the Jan. 31 release. "What we wanted to do was come up with a way to improve our deployment readiness," said Lt. Col. Toby Sernel, the group's deputy commander. Through changes such as "more effective and efficient use" of flying training hours and maximizing the use of flight simulators on base, the group has achieved this, he said. "Our crews are more prepared for [uS Central Command's area of responsibility] now than they were a year ago," said Sernel. "The benefits extend to everyone throughout the group," he said. Of course, this also means the beer light can be turned on at 1400 and everyone in the squadron will be able to participate.
