  1. The real sickness in AMC as of late has been the Commander-directed Q-3's, not what's happening on evaluations. I know of a few guys who were strung up by their fingernails for shit that should have been a simple tongue-lashing. Most involved poor pre-flight walk-arounds, none bent metal. Guys are being crucified on Form 8's for items such as safety and judgement for a simple missed checklist step. There's even an AC who was handed (or threatened with) a Q-3 after one of his crew-members drank too much and acted-a-fool while in crew-rest. All of this paperwork was driven by someone in the chain of command of these individuals who could have easily put the top-down madness to the a stop.
  2. After extended TDY's to Germany and the "German Chicks in Dirndls and Beer" thread, I always thought a small farmhouse in Bavaria would be a great retirement. Then I wake up and realize Europe is as equally fooked, if not moreso, than we are in the States. Sechs one way, half a dozen the other...
  3. This one is worth pinning from "The Atlantic" article.
  4. And one more thing... when PA shows up with a camera and wants to film what you are doing upstairs, deny them! NEVER TALK TO THE MEDIA! (Thanks, Rainman) When's the next VSP?
  5. day man, thanks for coming forward on this one. You have been raked through the coals in this community as becoming the proverbial "snowman" PNF (PM or whatever we are calling it this week). I wasn't there. I haven't seen the report. I think you guys got suckered into a shit-storm. Since this occurrence, our safety sups and phase sims reek of fixes that AMC "leadership" has determined appropriate for a shitty radar system upgrade on their jets. You guys became victims to the APS 150 that artificially paints light rain as a torrential down-pour. After a certain point, one becomes numb to what that shitty radar shows. While I think some aspects of the CRM on this crew broke down, I can easily see how it happened. They've re-written section 7 of the dash one and given us some circuit breaker fixes for erroneous returns, but in the end it is still a marginal radar system that most of us tend to marginalize.
  6. Break, Break... What's this I'm hearing about an AMC-level Sq/CC being fired for using the term "Chiefed" in an e-mail to the squadron. Can anyone confirm?
  7. I've heard of crimes against humanity, but this is a new one. Sounds like she earned it.
  8. Thank you. This thread has gone full stupid. Can the mods clip everything since slick first opened his pie-hole?
  9. Fall of 2014.... that is the latest intel I received as well. Is anyone else starting to feel like the unwanted guest who has overstayed his/her welcome? Another (legitimate) VSP would quickly solve the manning issues that drove our board 1 year to the right.
  10. Good. Now perhaps certain people will start worrying about becoming competent in their AFSC instead of how they are going pepper-grind their way to that school slot.
  11. Obviously the local news media filter has been hard broke for quite a while. This story is beyond stupid. Maybe if you explain what TACAMO means they'll be able to make something of this.
  12. I am sick of you people ragging on Toro/Turo/TUIPUI/TUI/... that is a legitimate university!
  13. March 2014 is what the e-mail said. I haven't been following the O-5 board at all, so I'm not sure if that is on frag or not.
  14. Got word from the boss that this year's O-4 board was not so much delayed as it was all-together canceled. It seems the next O-4 board will meet during the first week in December of 2014. The O-5 board looks like it will meet in early March of 2014. The tone of the e-mail was that this is still tentative, but based on good info. The final message should come down in a few weeks.
  15. Though I don't recall exactly what it was (nor do I care to look it up again), but 222 was always my favorite.
  16. I don't think most ops guys actually care who the cnx goes to. I start to lose my sh!t when the other party(s) blatantly lie about the reason to put the blame on someone else. I've seen this multiple times at a deployed location where a crew bends over backwards to try to make the mission happen, but just can't do it (MX, WX, cargo). The next day the delay code is on the crew explained with a flat-out lie as to why it was an ops cnx.
  17. I stand corrected... times 2.
  18. The BQZip's mom joke practically writes itself....
  19. A beer kill tally?! On her chest?! Gott in Himmel...
  20. This happened in CHS a couple years ago. The hangar was empty at the time. The foam was blowing all over the ramp after the doors were cracked. Pictures were up on Facebook so quickly that "leadership" had to send an e-mail telling people that photos of the flight-line were verboten unless approved through PA.
  21. So is this 11F specific or do you (CH) foresee this happening 11X-wide? I've tossed stoploss out to my fellow 11M guys over the last year and most have laughed it off.
  22. It's cool, she's using cooking oil.
  23. I'm curious if anyone has a good list of good vs bad push lines. If MAJCOM staff is bad, is HAF staff good? Having never been an exec, I want to scrub my OPRs for mediocrity. Edit: Not trying to derail, just want to know what sort of crap I'll be putting on my PRF whenever '05 gets a chance to submit one.
  24. I think Kelly is one of the depots for the -17. There must have been some leftover screws after they put the jet back together.
  25. In part, there were deeper underlying training/upgrade issues that drove a majority of these "incidents." I'd argue that fatigue for MAF crews is pretty universal. But that's probably a discussion for another thread...
